Pros

Constant work for a community manager. Lots of paper work will keep you busy and not bored. Beautiful office and great tenants.

Cons

Awful training, you are expected to know the company policies and once you think you know them... Bam you're wrong... They change in a drop of a dime. You are constantly being micro managed and have no say so on decisions of your property, yet you are 100% responsible if things go wrong. When ordering supplies they have to be approved by your supervisor or maintenance supervisor. Good luck sometimes they never get approved and your left worried begging to get them approved. Remember you are 100% liable for all that goes on your property. Good luck. Oh and let me tell you, you get treated like scum by everyone in corporate office, very disappointing. Now let's talk about the duties of a Community Managers working for Buckingham. You'd think they consist of paper work, office duties, customer service, leasing and solving tenant issues. Let's add... Throwing out the trash, cleaning the office, club house and laundry room. Oh and yes.. Cleaning the public restroom is a must. As if that's not enough, you have to remove/wash screens, clean windows, and dust as needed. If your maintenance is on vacation or quits you have to pick up trash, wash down walk ways, change batteries, replace bulbs and clean up dumpster area. If you take vacation time off expect to get a call or text from your supervisor or corporate offices.

Pros

The apartment is really nice. The office I work in is nice too. The properties are beautiful .

Cons

I've been with Buckingham Properties for a year and a half. The Employment Agreement they had me sign was sketchy at best. They list two pay amounts.. one is a monthly amount that disguises a super low hourly amount, but then they also list an hourly amount that is right there in your face. You think you're getting that.. but nope.. your getting the bad wage. Originally when they hired me.. it was the wage, the apartment, free insurance, 12 days of accrued sick time, and 14 days of accrued vacation time and holidays too. I was so excited to be coming on board. Not long after I was hired, they stopped the free medical insurance, and it was crazy high to pay for . Then about a year later, they reduced the sick time to 6 days and then the vacation days I was getting which was 10, was reduced to 5. So here I was thinking I was getting a good wage, free insurance, and 10 vacation days and 12 sick days a year.. only to be a crappy wage, no insurance or expensive insurance (your choice) with 5 vacation days and 6 sick days. The President takes and takes and takes away.. and gives nothing back. They headquarters treats the Property Managers on the front line, as if we were ignorant and low class. And then the worse thing is the bosses. My boss was thrown into her job.. and had no past management experience .. she would gossip about other property managers to their peers, she would talk about personal information, and as if that wasn't bad enough, she didn't know all that she should, and instead of asking and learning, she'd bs her way through. Very negative. And then no reviews, no increases in a year and a half and I've worked so hard to prove myself., but what is my incentive when they keep reducing my benefits and never increase my pay?

Pros

If you keep your head down and don’t disagree with them you will be left alone. Otherwise Management will go as far as to make stuff up to get rid of you.

Cons

They weren’t always like this but now middle Management runs the company. They lie, distort, abuse and threaten employees, and frankly suck at being leaders you can look up to. They demean and talk down to you. Everything IS someone else’s fault never theirs except when it’s something good. Then they will take the credit.
