Understaffed, terrible management at Buffalo General Hospital (Kaleida Health)
Pros
Decent pay Rumor has it the new CEO is trying to change the culture of the hospital towards a more positive direction. Once I see it happen, I will believe it.
Cons
I worked here for years and felt loyal to my employer despite all the problems with management. Many floors were continuously understaffed and the nurses were getting exhausted and overworked which affected patient care. They promote inept managers who know how to work the system. and then lay off the good managers who work well with the employees under them and promote teamwork with a strong emphasis on high quality patient care. After seeing patient care being sacrificed for the inadequate budget far too many times, I realized I need to move on to a real hospital that actually cares about their patients (as well as respecting the employees who care for their patient). I would not recommend this hospital either as a nurse or as a patient.
