Pros

Decent pay Rumor has it the new CEO is trying to change the culture of the hospital towards a more positive direction. Once I see it happen, I will believe it.

Cons

I worked here for years and felt loyal to my employer despite all the problems with management. Many floors were continuously understaffed and the nurses were getting exhausted and overworked which affected patient care. They promote inept managers who know how to work the system. and then lay off the good managers who work well with the employees under them and promote teamwork with a strong emphasis on high quality patient care. After seeing patient care being sacrificed for the inadequate budget far too many times, I realized I need to move on to a real hospital that actually cares about their patients (as well as respecting the employees who care for their patient). I would not recommend this hospital either as a nurse or as a patient.

Pros

Good Benefits and Pto time

Cons

What they don't tell you during the interview is that you can't take off a Monday or Friday unless it's an off week. The union contract is awsome for the people under it, however for the staff of the staffing office it dictates when you can get time off. During the interview process the supervisor will let you know he has a hands off approach. So there is one staffing coordinator that steps into the supervisor position and gives the orders to the rest of the employees in the office. Four of the staffing coordinators call the employees dumb and stupid all day long. They also use Vulgar words all day as frequently as the word the an and. Very little professionalism as employees feed off each other and criticise each other's work performance when they walk out of the office.
