Pros

Great healthcare and several very talented employees, especially at the entry to mid level.

Cons

Literally everything else. The foundation on which Bulletproof was built shows no signs of life from within. There is no gratitude, there is no culture, and there is no rest for the weary. Now, where to begin.. During my tenure, it was commonplace to find individuals in positions of power with very limited practical experience and/or willingness to get one's hands dirty. If you are an excellent delegator, you may love it here. If you are in a position where a lot of action and execution rests on your shoulders, you will have little to no work life balance. The way certain individuals in this company treat employees they've deemed lesser than is despicable. Without getting too specific, examples of this behavior were displayed openly in group meetings and also in more private settings, coming from multiple levels of rank from the top down. It caused cross functional rifts and created a lot of unnecessary drama and discomfort in an environment that should promote healthy and positive work relationships. You can have negative discussions in constructive and professional ways; these egocentric displays hurt much more than they helped. In the eyes of many past and current employees, there is very little hope for advancement and growth in certain areas of this company. Those who put in the time, are passionate about Bulletproof's mission, and are willing to learn in order to grow are rarely, if ever, the ones to receive promotions; sometimes, I felt, never even receiving consideration after expressing interest. As such, many are stuck treading water until a better opportunity comes along or their position is made obsolete.. whichever comes first. If genuine "gratitude" is expressed, it usually comes from the person you report directly to. It was very rare to receive any form of recognition for a job well done from anyone in upper management. It was much more common to receive negative feedback from managers other than your own or an "urgent" request to pile onto one's current overflowing workload. Though appreciation is different than compensation, I also never held my breath that my annual review would yield anything more on my paycheck's net earnings than an extra cup of Bulletproof Coffee.. and I worked well over 50 hours per week with countless measured instances of success. There is much more I could go into, but I won’t. If you are looking to work at Bulletproof, know that each team has its own sub-environment and as such, could have a very different outlook than the one I have expressed here. This review is strictly my own personal experience and opinion. And my opinion is run, don’t walk, the other way.

Pros

Some autonomy to work hard and develop if you have the initiative to blaze your own path. Many positions are remote and allow for flexibility.

Cons

The company is terrible at recognizing employees. If you work in a position that naturally generates recognition, you might be decently compensated, but *ANNUAL* raises might not even match inflation regardless of how good of an employee you are. If you work on one of those golden positions, you don't get criticized for mistakes, but if you don't, you won't get praised for fixing them, and you will get criticized if any mistake is noticed.

Pros

If you're looking for what some would call a hostile work environment, working long hours with no time off, no overtime, with no support from upper management and plenty of room to grow, search no further! This place is Bulletproof! Free products for employees too!- Health insurance, 401k and bus pass.

Cons

Mostly everything that comes with a poorly managed company. No work/life balance as promised and stated in their company values and mission statement. Not truthful with job descriptions, duties or the work/life balance they emphasize to their employees, but it all depends on your department I guess.
