Difficult to move up

Pros

Good people, good brand. Very fun atmosphere. Lots of expansion so theoretically room to grow. Food is among the best in the price point

Cons

Hard work, upper management not always aware of how their decisions affect hourly workers. Difficult to move up past AGM/GM. They like to look outside first.

Happy to hear your Pros, especially about the people and the Burger Lounge brand! We are happy to say we have made improvements to encourage Loungers to develop within our company. We have added more leadership operations positions to move up beyond GM, we have also grown our Learning & Development positions which are ideal for Loungers in operations who are interested in moving into a different field within Burger Lounge. Not only that, but we also have a "Grow With Us" program that allows Loungers to tell us where they see themselves in the future with Burger Lounge and enables us to better assist in their development. Lastly, we have also launched an engagement survey where Loungers can have their voices heard! Not only that, we take action to make improvements based on our Loungers feedback.

Pros

You get to eat for free while training. That's about it.

Cons

The owner doesn't value anyone busting their butt in the stores. From management down to a dishwasher, every is replaceable. Give him 5 years of service? Awesome. How about a handshake and no raise. I could go on but most are smart enough to get where I'm going with this, and anyone that isn't has bigger issues.

Pros

The food is pretty good. It seems like they treat restaurant employees pretty well.

Cons

Toxic work environment. Poor management. Constant turnover. CEO comes up with ideas that are a waste of time but you have to do them to appease his whims. Claims to be inclusive but make “jokes” about minorities (LGBTQ, women, etc).
