Internship is not what it seems

Pros

Opportunity to travel extensively. Company pays for housing.

Cons

Employees drink every night. The culture insists on selling to EVERYONE at all times. There is no down time. Employees are generally rich, former study abroad kids who graduated college and just want to continue their study abroad experience of drinking heavily all night everlty night. Company culture is best compared to a caddy sorority. Managers don't understand anything about business. Interns are paid nothing except for 5% commission on every tour sold. If you don't make quotas you are cut and sent home.

Pros

Travel, live abroad & meet a ton of people. Great work experience out of college.

Cons

Not sustainable living conditions, not paid as an intern even if you are forced to be put up in a hostel away from your apartment for extending period of time. You have to pay for daily necessities on trips while you are meant to be working. If you are displaced from your daily work life you should be compensated accordingly to make up for it.

Pros

You will meet some of the most amazing and like minded people and if you have not traveled Europe a lot, you will get to see a bunch of great places in a short amount of time.

Cons

This is a 24/7 job, as in no time for yourself and work comes before everything. The company functions a lot like a fraternity and there is a clear heirarchy which makes effective communication and living and working with co workers difficult at times. Because you work and live with all staff members and are together constantly, there lines of professionalism are extremely blurred. Sales will always be management's number one priority and while they preach "one team one dream", they allow their top sellers to step on the toes of other staff members to make a quick buck. Overall, not nearly enough respect for employees who are working around the clock to make the company look good.
