Pros

Great x-mas party You can get wasted every Friday on Company costs

Cons

Bynder is a very fake company with people in charge that are not capable to do their job according to their job title. If one of your strengths is to suck up or to be very political then apply, go for it you will perfectly fit in there. If you want to understand what I mean by fake just watch one of their feature Friday videos where they try to promote what a fun it is to work for bynder/how cool this compnay is #FAKE. If you have a bit of understanding of human behaviour, you will immediately understand what type of people suit in this company once you watch those clips. Be careful when you read most of the reviews in glasdoor about bynder. The management asks all the new hires to add positive reviews in glasdoor in order ito make bynder look great and attractive for investors and banks and potential new employees. Last but not least, the unlimited vacation policy is a FAKE news!!!

Sorry you feel that way. Not everyone leaves their job on a high note, such is life i guess but we all start with the best of intentions. I would still like to encourage you to reach out to me personally, eager to learn where you feel we can improve (apparently on off-boarding ;)). Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but i have to contest a few things. I do not encourage people to write on GD (Banks and investors really don't care about our ratings here unfortunately). The unlimited vacation policy and the results are very real, in fact PTO's are up by more than 10% in all offices. (happy to share numbers with you if you're interested or not convinced, just PM me). As for the feature fridays, personally i like these light hearted short videos on Facebook, they shouldn't be taken too seriously. Good luck in the rest of your career, sorry it didn't work out with us, I hope you find somewhere you fit in and feel appreciated. Best, Chris (CEO)

Pros

- Lots of freedom, so you can try new things, manage your own projects ... or come in drunk and leave early - Hiring policy has been focussed on likability for a few years, which means you'll make great friends there and enjoy some of the fun of Amsterdam together. - Office is nice and in a great location, catered lunches are pretty sweet. - Great work-life balance! After a while, we joked about working there as being a break from our normal careers. - If you can get yourself a raise (they always low-ball new hires), the salary/benefits are pretty decent for Dutch standards.

Cons

- Management has almost no experience and is guided by emotion rather than any business tact, plan, or data. They seem to make every disagreement personal, which often blocks progress and conflict resolution. - They favour those in their inner circle with lofty job titles and high salaries, and immunity from discipline or sanction, while imposing bizarre principles (that seem to have come from a 1990's management textbook) across the rest of the company, regardless of a person's experience, performance, or specific case. - They will take everything they can get out of you, without being willing to reward you for your work. (You need to beg for raises, and they'll treat you like a sponge for it no matter how hard you work.) - The only way to get any reward or recognition for your contribution is to: (1) make yourself indispensable, despite getting no guidance or resources in doing so, and then (2) get a competing job offer. - Management team seems to have suffered from a lot of substance abuse issues in the past year. It sounds like they're cleaning up now, but it was embarrassing to watch and painful to navigate, and lead to a lot of solid people losing hope and passion. - I worked in the Amsterdam office, but I hear the Boston office has it's own host of problems (particularly bullying).

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to express your opinion concerning your tenure at Bynder. We are very disappointed that your experience at Bynder was negative, although we are grateful for the constructive feedback. As a startup, we are constantly iterating on not only our product, but re-assessing our internal processes, systems, as well as our culture. Our structure is constantly changing and isn’t always perfect, especially as our culture continues to change and evolve. That being said, it is no excuse for your less than favorable experience and please know that we are taking your concerns very seriously. We would highly appreciate the opportunity to speak in further detail with you about the items you listed as concerning so that we can investigate your feedback. You can do so anonymously if preferred, or speak with a People and Talent representative via phone. You can reach us at peopletalent@bynder.com, and again our apologies for your unfortunate experience.

Pros

- A lot of freedom, which can allow you to operate autonomously or pick up new projects, or to do nothing without any repercussions. - A few great people, generally not in management, who truly carry the company. - Unlimited holidays. - Free lunch & beers. - Great office location. - A great product and dedicated product team.

Cons

- Very stagnant career growth outlook; you might be able to make a step to the side, but there is no such thing as climbing the ladder. - Salaries are a joke, not in line with the market. - Bynder does not evaluate its employees based on performance, at least not to the extent to which it can actually cause you to get a raise that is more than the 1% that everybody gets. - High performer, or low performer, it does not matter. - Nepotism is unfortunately a big thing, if you are friends with the right people, they keep you sheltered, give you raises and will invent positions to keep you on board. Management is inexperienced and has failed to bring much needed experience (stability) into the company through external hires. This has led to: - Global unclarity on mission, vision, strategy and means of execution. - Putting people in more managerial positions, despite not being the best fit. - Most importantly, every change, every initiative is NOT taken seriously by the employees who have been with the company for longer than a year. There is no credibility, nor accountability from management side.

Thank you for your response. We appreciate the time you took to give us feedback, and we want to let you know that we are taking this into serious consideration. As we grow, we are having to rethink and realign the existing structure within Bynder, especially after the acquisition of one of our largest competitors. We agree that, as we expand, the systems that worked for a company of 100 people, no longer work for a scale-up that is now over 300+. Restructuring and evaluating our current processes will not happen overnight, so I hope you will grant us a grace period while we reevaluate. As you mentioned in earlier in your message, we still want to grant people freedom while providing our workforce with a vision and plan for the future. This is an ongoing process that we are taking steps towards. Again, thank you for your feedback, and if you would like to speak with us further about your experience, please feel free to reach out to us at peopletalent@bynder.com
