Pros

The friendships you will make with some great people.

Cons

Ladies and gents, boys and girls, take a seat, gather some popcorn, sit back, relax and enjoy the show. I'm only going to leave you a snippet though, I am trying to publish my novel on BYTON and this can serves as a teaser (think of it as GOT 2.0, just no flying dragons, only rumors and backstabbing stories fly around here) Chapter One: Management It is non-existence here! The CEO only cares about the China office and its operations, because if you think about it, even when the cars come out (it probably won't be on schedule, we are way behind on all programs) it will hit the Chinese market first. This means, the entire focus will be the launch in China - where the revenue will be. It will be difficult to break into the U.S market considering the current political climate. But, in order to make the company appears "global", the U.S office will still be here for now. VPs here don't care much about their dept or any other dept or anyone actually, just themselves. If they feel threaten by someone, sorry bud, you're outta here. It's literally an eye for an eye (Gandhi is not proud, I know). If you think you can openly connect or seek advice from the CEO, VPs or even (some)Directors here...don't. Your scheduled meetings with them will probably be cancelled because of an "urgent conflict". Your complaints or feedback will be "tattle-tale" to the VPs so that they can sit you down and unleash their wrath on you. Management here is not to be trusted, because HR here will disclose everything you tell them to whoever it is about. So be careful if you think you can trust HR or your VP, because...friends...they will NOT have your back. Chapter Two: People Credit is given where it is due, and I can say that some people you meet here, will be your friends, not just colleagues, but close friends. But be careful on that one too, your "friends" can also turn around and stab you in the back so that they can climb that ladder faster. Yes, you'll be in awe at first, thinking how can people just do this. Oh wait! not people, friends...how can they? Well, sorry, friendships don't pay bills, so they will probably not care. Hate to break it to ya! Chapter Three: Rumors vs. Facts No where I worked in my 15 years have I seen this type of work environment. It is not work, it is a high school playground. Your own manager will tell people how terrible you are and try their best to spoil your reputation even after you are long gone from here. Truths will get skewed, rumors will always win. I'm not even sure where the rumors come from, but it is constant. No matter what you do, where you go, what you eat...everyone will know. What fun if we rely on the truths?? Let's believe the rumors so that our lives can be more exciting. There will be rumors about everything, the CEO, the cleaning lady, you, your boss, your ex , your favorite restaurants...Just know when to filter it out and you should be sorta ok Concluding Words: If you are reading this because you are considering to work or interview here, well...RUN or at least speed walk. Don't believe in the funding or the management here, and don't even consider relocating here. Someone quit their cushy job to work here, and they were laid-off within a month. Let that NOT be you. If you are reading this and you are still an employee, give me that like, this would give me validation to write my novel. Suggestions also welcomed! If none of these deter you to avoid this circle of Dante's Inferno, then you are brave..... but for how long?

Pros

Because the laundry list is so long for such a luxurious company, it's quite hard to truly document them all in just one review. But I'll give it the good ol' college try: • It's a job Huh, what do you know. That wasn't so bad after all!

Cons

If I thought that was hard, finding faults with this place should be nearly impossible. As someone who saw quite a bit while being employed here for what felt like eternity, you would think that I would have at least one negative thing to say. But here it goes: • The working conditions go in waves. In the beginning it was spacious, but the construction was on-going and deafening during office hours. Once the first wave was completed, office space quickly became became crammed and uncomfortable. • They rectified that by expanding to the property across the parking lot. But that too filled up, and later caught on fire subsequently forcing the staff to move BACK into the original building making the working conditions quite "cozy". • Your team members will either be too green to know any better, too blind to the reality around them, or husks of their original selves. I'm sure when they joined they were hopeful professionals who were more than capable of doing their jobs. Now they have probably lost the will to care because the reality is even if you fight to change things, you'll end up not being heard or fired for "rocking the boat". • Requirements: They exist. Not only do they exist, but more than one department owns them. Not only that, but they're not consistent. And, not only that, but they're constantly changing because pretty much everyone wants to have the right to own them, but don't want to be responsible for them. So, don't worry if you deliver work that isn't consistent. No one is on the same page, so it doesn't matter anyway. • Leadership: This also exists. The form of its existence is fluid. Some of them are obsessed with playing political corporate games. Most of them have no idea what's going on. And all of them are on different pages. But don't fear, there is at least one manager who constantly tries to protect their team by continuously lying to them about the reality that's being spun for them. The best way to keep your team safe is to throw them under the bus to keep the project going. Because remember, what you don't know won't hurt you. Right? • Food : Now they tell all new hires that they have fully-stocked kitchens and catered daily lunch. This is not entirely untrue. The kitchens are fully-stocked with some items, but not necessities. Simple things like spoons or plates. If you want anything other than coffee or tea, you're on your own. Cereal has occasionally had bugs, the kitchen at one point was infested with ants for almost two weeks, and the lunch is edible but feels like it's the bottom of the barrel in quality. Just don't keep your leftovers or any food snacks in your desk drawers. Mice have been known to break-in. So, if you're looking for water, coffee, and tea. They've got you covered. But if you ask for cups to go with said tea, your expectations are too high. • Process. Okay, I laughed at myself for even thinking of including this. It's so non-existent that it shouldn't even be included. Hand-off to other teams is never easy, communication to solve problems is never productive, but fear not! You'll have plenty of meetings to fill your morning, afternoon, and evenings. Since they pride themselves in having offices here and in China, expect to work pretty much all day. • Drama: So. Much. Drama. If you love a good soap opera, this is the place for you. Yes, it's riddled with incredibly high stress anxiety, but it's worth it for the entertainment. (Perhaps this should be on the Pros list) • Lastly, when you leave the company you will instantly be painted as a horrible employee. All problems get blamed on you, and the real reason why you've left will become a lie to other teams and team members to make your now ex-boss look like the victim. • Oh, and if you do read some good reviews on here, just remember this valuable piece of information: at one point I was told directly from higher up that "recently there have been quite a bit of negative reviews written about BYTON that may, or may not, have influenced new hires. And perhaps, if I could find the time, maybe go on the site and write some nice things about what I like regarding the culture, etc." If you know anything about internet comments, if you flood a feed of bad reviews with good ones, it'll push them to the middle, which is predominantly left unread. Nice move BYTON. Very professional. Whew!! That feels so much better to get off my chest.

Pros

For the most part, all the people are quite nice. The health benefits are better than most traditional American oems

Cons

Where to start. Poorly run from the top down. There is absolutely no communication between groups. No alignment of timelines or milestones. Leadership at all levels takes no accountability. And will stab each other in the back to avoid taking any type of accountability. The product is absolute garbage. Simply the most disorganized company I have ever worked for.
