Pros

Staff consists mostly of hard-working, talented, kind people doing their best! Beautiful surroundings although it can feel quite isolating in winter.

Cons

To be clear, I REALLY wanted this job to be a place I would want to come back to year after year, but mismanagement, poor communication and totally inadequate housing instead made me feel totally devalued. First, housing: most workers here travel seasonally for jobs, meaning many move across the country to get here. In my experience after driving across country and arriving at the coordinated time I was told they hadn't been expecting me (RED FLAG) this is a HOSPITALITY BUSINESS and to not have a system for anticipating new staff members is a bad look. I was then shown by H.R. to a dorm-style room that had not been remotely cleaned from the last inhabitants, trash never emptied, dirty linens still on beds, never vacuumed. Instead of settling in I spent my first day cleaning up other people's filth in what would become a pattern of total disregard for sanitation. The housing is not free, rent is deducted from our paychecks (for transparency, my take-home pay after taxes and rent was $12 an hour). Fast forward to January, after the busy holiday season is over, management simultaneously cuts hours across the board and increases rent, at a time when other businesses in the area are offering winter bonuses and pay increases in recognition of the difficulty of the season. I feel compelled to warn other professional adults to NOT WORK HERE if you value cleanliness, hospitality extended to guests AND staff, good work structure, consistent hours, etc. there are too many good jobs out there to waste time at one where you consistently feel disrespected.
