Pros

Nice office space industry impact good benefits great coworkers

Cons

Low staff trust, value and respect from executive and senior leadership. Staff viewed suspiciously which is probably why attendance is kept at voluntary meetings and work from home isn't allowed.

Pros

At its heart, CAQH is a mission-driven organization. Employees believe the products and initiatives they support are having a measurable, positive impact on the healthcare industry by reducing administrative burdens. This is what sets the organization apart from others. Because of its non-profit status, CAQH is committed to doing the right thing for the industry long term - rather than focusing on short term financial gains. CAQH recruits and retains top notch employees with diverse backgrounds that contribute to its collaborative work environment. Employees are engaged in everything from providing feedback on new office space to designing the performance management process.

Cons

As CAQH has grown, many policies that were once informal are now being formalized. This formality is necessary within a larger organization but comes with some growing pains. I strongly believe leadership is committed to ensuring employees have the resources and support they need to be successful in their roles while also recognizing and supporting life outside of the workplace. CAQH has always felt like a second family and that atmosphere and culture remains as we grow.

Pros

Dedicated communications team, despite leadership and agency turnover.

Cons

The US spends $361 billion annually on health care administration — more than twice its total spending on heart disease and three times the spending on cancer. According to the IOM, fully half of these expenditures are unnecessary. CAQH efforts are a drop in the bucket against this problem. Staff efforts are laudable, but there's no vision at the top, coupled with insane micromanagement by the ED. Changing IT platforms every couple of years won't make CAQH, its member plans, doctors and hospitals more efficient. It's just re-arranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
