Pros

Only Pro I can think of is getting PTO and a week-break for Christmas.

Cons

-no matter what sex you are or your age, be sure that you will be treated like a child -they tell you what you want to hear but it will never happen -no such thing as personal growth -be prepared to stand up all day while dialing, b/c if you don't then "your not working hard" they will take your chair from underneath you to make you stand -if you have a large commission check coming soon, they will either fire you before you get paid on it or not pay you the correct amount and tell you they will fix it but it doesn't happen -they change your base salary and commission structure constantly

Pros

The only ‘pro’ about CDM Media is that I made a couple of great friends by bonding over how much we hate this company. Whatever you do, please read these reviews before considering a job at CDM Media.

Cons

My entire experience at CDM was a complete lie. Starting with my interview process lying to me of how much I was going to make in a year to telling me they’re moving out of this office to build a brand new building solely for the events and the entire company. The company is run by four horrible British men who will go to great lengths just to make money for themselves. They pry on college kids that don’t have any job experience and offer them the lowest starting base in Chicago with no hopes of getting a raise in your first couple years at the company (if you make it that long!) I have never seen a higher turnover rate. They will claim it's normal at a sales organization, but how do you explain the people who left the first week on the job? I've seen people being let go strictly because of their appearances...During my time at this company, I was critiqued for the way I dressed wasn’t “feminine” enough or that my hair was "too flat". At a corporate company, they were more concerned if I was in a full set of make up with my hair done over my quota and numbers. There is absolutely no flexibility or trust in their employees whatsoever. You eat lunch every day at the same time, only get two 15 minute breaks and even if it's -56 mph winds outside, you sure as hell still better make it to work or it’s coming out of your PTO days. Upper management puts no money/effort into any of their employees. There is no training provided besides sitting in a room with a director for a couple of days, paying for your own LinkedIn subscriptions that help generate business, and having no sales tools to help employees navigate which territories/prospects are open so its just a bunch of scamming and stepping on coworkers toes. Not to mention, your own director who is suppose to help you generate business will actually steal your sales for themselves and earn more commissions. It was exhausting trying to keep up with who to trust in the office and who was going to stab you in the back. Even your own directors didn’t trust you, employees would have to bring in doctors notes if they called in sick just to make sure they weren’t interviewing at other companies. OF COURSE WE WERE INTERVIEWING AT OTHER COMPANIES, THIS PLACE IS AWFUL.

Pros

I am only writing this because of the recent review that was written raving about how amazing CDM is. Since that the review was written by someone who has only been there for a few short months, and has yet to see how the company will soon screw him - I felt like it was my responsibility to set the record straight. Pros.?.?. So the company has gotten some really great people to work here. Most of them are in Chicago - and the ones from NY are now all gone. In the past 6 weeks, the entire office cleared out. The office fits 50 people and is down to 3!!!! They say that they are rebuilding, but this is a sinking ship...

Cons

Even though the idea of the product is good - the execution is horrible. Lying is the constant here! They lie to clients, they lie to attendees, they lie to employees, they hold back commissions, they lie all day and just assume that everyone believes their stories. If you walk into the company, you will be micromanaged, yelled at, treated like a child and constantly talked down to. 95% of the problems in this company comes from NY Upper Management. They use people to see how much they can get out of you. They will treat you like you are disposable and pay you as they wish. If you want to work for this company - then move to Chicago and do it there!!!! Walk away from this - this will be the biggest mistake you will grow to regret.
