There is a real lack of leadership at all levels. Owners and corporate management are completely uninvolved with the field.

Pros

Easy to get hired on - was literally told to hire anyone who applied and could pass a background check.

Cons

Unrealistic expectations, low pay. They start everyone at the minimum. Store managers make $24-30k/yr- if you get hired on for more, the second you get the store clean, stocked and running right, they will fire you and replace you with someone for less. That person will run the store into the ground and they will start the cycle up again

Pros

Making customer service the most rewarding part of everyday. Loved the customers.

Cons

I have been employed by various company's in the past which have treated employees in the field with dignity and respect . During my employment with the Fikes/Cefco company I saw very little of anything positive that was ever passed down to managers or employees working in the field. Wages are not competitive for new employees compared to the c store competition. Coorporated level shows little to no support for employees at the store level and passing the buck to the next person to save their position. The company is vague on policies and procedures which change frequently. Customers should be the number one priority yet no one in the cooperate level is too concerned in having enough help to serve the customer. DM's quote they are yelled and screamed at in meetings and they pass down this type of action to the store level. Cefco is not a cutting edge company just a wanta be. Nothing positive in Cefco would rate a zero in labor standards.
