Pros

Absolutely no pros at this company

Cons

This has to be the worst company I have ever 'worked' for. The lack of communication within the company ultimately cost me my job. I interviewed well and had two interviews, then received the offer. I followed up with the department head to clarify the offer terms, details, and ask more questions about the role. I get alot of responses from him saying the company is really busy, they need someone with my experience, there is plenty of work for me to do, and I will be part of a 'core' group that always has at least filler work to do during slower times and therefore would be much less likely to be laid off due to downturn. Satisfied with these responses, I accepted the offer and we agreed on a start date, and I promptly filled out all 'hire' documentation sent to me. However, the internal company processes/communication were so lacking that they were not aware of my start date and never told me where and at what time to show up for my first day. I had to call my boss (different person than the department head I previously talked to) the weekend before and confirm where and when I should show up. This ultimately led to him realizing my computer/phone etc were not ready for my first day, and told me to stay home the first day and to start the next day. The next day I show up for work, and after setting up computer and doing corporate training, I repeatedly ask for tasks to do during the rest of the week, but my boss gives me nothing, continues to ignore me saying he is not ready for me and has no work for me to do. The beginning of the next week I am summoned by HR and immediately laid off with no explanation- although I was never assigned work and never got a chance to prove myself!!! So my total time at the company was a week. From the moment I had signed the offer letter, I had a bad feeling about the company and job - turns out I should have listened to my gut. This company does not know what they want, how much work they have, and how to hire people - essentially they lied to me to get me to sign an offer, then booted me out right away. What a joke! Now I see they are reposting for the same job I was hired for - be warned, do yourself a favour and stay far far away! (Would give zero stars if possible)

Pros

Salary is decent, so is vacation time Team spirit between non management colleagues is great

Cons

Senior managers tend to evolve in "cliques''in which non management staff has to fit in or at least try to fit in, if you don't life a work will not be as enjoyable. A lot of internal politics... During Teams meetings,a senior manager talks negatively about other employees (mangemement and non management) in front of the team (direct reports). It happens quite frequently. Non management staff politely laughs or does nothing depending on the reaction of the senior manager If you have a problem with your manager HR will generally first ask that you try to solve it on your own rather than help you solve it. They are not there for the employee, they side with upper management. A colleage once asked me if at times I felt stupid compared to others in the department or if I felt like others were smarter. They let you know when you do something that's not smart... It's quite intimidating actually. Senior managers do not provide proper mentoring and coaching as they are overworked and the workload is not evenly distributed.
