Work/Work Imbalance and Unresponsive Leadership Leaves Employees Frustrated and Just-Plain Confused
Pros
Modern tech stack. Zero micro management. Kind and helpful colleagues. Wonderful HR. Wonderful IT.
Cons
The chief solutions officer has good intentions, but utterly fails when it comes to communicating clear expectations, norms, procedures, and even DEADLINES. As a result, engineers are left without clear direction. Fully-remote work environments naturally tend to lead to a sense of isolation. One way of combating this feeling is to strengthen internal communication. But internal communication is practically non-existent here. It takes 2 to 4 weeks just to get a simple "yes" or "no" from him, even if the question concerned is critical. I told him this, on numerous occasions. But rather than attributing any value to my feedback, he simply deflected the blame onto my flaws (of which I'm sure I have many) instead. Work-bots who need sponsorship may tolerate an environment like this, but the remaining 90% of us will most likely not. At least not forever.
