Cons

This company was bought out by air pros, and as much as the managment will make the case of "we have kept our majority stock and make our own decisions" that is a decieving argument based on the fact that airpros has production quotas for CM because of which managment has been forced to make drastic changes to make more and more money. that weight falls on the employees. this company has a very two faced lay off season, the moment the company falls behind your job is no longer safe. you can win an award or EOTM etc and the next day be laid off. if they dont just make you quit by giving you no hours first so you cant get unemployment. they hate criticism. i have seen instances where longterm employees have reached out to longtime friends, shareholders and managment of the company about the state of the company just to get fired. cm has extremely high standards which is a nice change of pace from other companys if it werent for the pay that is even or below par to surrounding companys. after being bought by airpros the new lead installer pay dropped from 45$ to 35$. morale is horrible within the install department due to such considering there is no peace rate. the service department and the install department are put at odds by CM by giving bonuses to service techs for finding anything wrong with install work (which then gives the install lead a call back which negates there entire bonus) what i can say in a general statement is that this company will pretend to care about you. but dont expect any effort from theyre side of the street, you will be putting in all of the effort in this employer/employee relationship, and you will most likely get burned or used. you will be nothing but a tool to this company, so if you are coming here to learn, expect to be let go the moment things get slow. if your coming here to be a lead and work, expect to make little to nothing. also benefits are absolutely atrocious for the amount of physical danger this job has, except for dental, the dental is amazing. also i wont go in to detail in order to keep anonymous but there is a huge amount of drama that contributes to such low morale. in conclusion this is no longer a people place. and giving critique to managment is essentially pointless, im not writing this thinking anything will change, im writing this so apprentices and leads who need to provide for there families STAY AWAY THERE IS BEATING CM HEATING for employees but as far as being a customer i highly reccomend it. the leads that do work here are under extreme pressure and those who handle it are some of the best you will meet and wont settle for anything less than perfect. this is not the place it used to be, and i wish we would buy back from airpros.

CM Heating Response

Dear Author, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review, and we totally understand why you are upset and concerned. It’s unfortunate, but many HVAC companies in the PNW are having a much slower late summer/early fall than expected. This September - for reasons out of our control - we have had significantly fewer installation calls than the prior year. This reality unfortunately put the company in a position where we were over staffed. We absolutely hate performing layoffs, but understand that no matter how we feel about it, it’s still much harder for the co-worker who is being let go. When we do have to make these decisions - which are always difficult - we try as best we can to be objective in our decision making process. It sounds like your position may have been one that was removed, and we’d like you to know that the decision wasn’t an easy one. We love our coworkers, but are unfortunately bound by some basic economic principals that most companies run by. If the business is losing money, it’s not going to be able to employ anyone for long. And so we had to make some very difficult choices to right-size the business. We are genuinely sorry that this action has impacted you, and are taking measures on our end to avoid actions like this in the future as best as possible. For now, we wish the author the very best of luck going forward and thank them for their service and hard work to CM Heating.
