Pros

1) The city campus is conveniently located while the main campus cannot be reached using public transport. 2) Good infrastructure, but not as good as it claims 3) Not a bad option if you want to sleepwalk through a job 4) Diverse background of lecturers 5) In the rare case, you might find yourself in one of the better managed departments or working alongside a really smart person.

Cons

1) Low pay and even lower pay hike 2) No intellectual or professional growth 3) College canteen isn't particularly great 4) Decreasing student enrollment 5) Lack of smooth functioning or leadership. 6) High employee attrition 7) Not a great option among new colleges in Bangalore If you are reading this, you are probably better than most folks working at CMR University. For starters, they just don't have the breadth of knowledge or general awareness to know that such websites exist. Read on to find more reasons why you could do better than this workplace. For a young, somewhat idealistic lecturer, the most disappointing aspect of my stint was the intellectual shallowness and lethargy around me. When I heard recruiters say that the vast majority of Indian graduates were unemployable, I could only think about my fellow colleagues. It was no surprise to see students failing to get the education or jobs that they deserved. To be fair, my fellow lecturers were all nice people with whom I had lunch most days of the week. But barring a few, most didn't have the passion or knowledge needed in this profession. In some cases, some of the lecturers happened to be mediocre students studying in the same college a few months ago. The Faculty Development Program does little beyond being an impressive abbreviation. So why is it like this? Well, if you are gonna pay peanuts, you should know whom to expect in your interviews. Reportedly, the ones who get paid well are those who haven't set stepped inside a classroom. Secondly, it is made worse by sycophantic administrators who withhhold benefits employees deserve (maternity leave, for example). And since none of these are secrets, attrition is high and most employees quit within a year and move to other colleges. Finally, a lot of good things about CMR University happens to be reflected glory off CMRIT, a college with a longer history and more things to brag about.

Pros

Less work pressure, cabins well ventilated. Work-Life balance.

Cons

1) No career growth. 2) No skill enhancement opportunities 3) Management does not seem to understand what they want. 4) Heavy politics; not able to retain talent. 5) A so -called leading academician sitting in the ground floor is more bothered about fans, lights, chairs, and cleaning; rather than streamlining the academic voice of the brand.
