Truth is being hired at COCC will, for most people, be the high point of your career there. It's a small company and there isn't really room or opportunity to grow a career or develop professionally. The raises are minimal, and starting salaries are low by industry standards. Going to Hartford, Windsor, or Fairfield for a job with an insurance company or brokerage house is a much better long term career plan. You can make a lateral move at COCC, but promotions or being nurtured isn't a possibility. Just fact. The other downside is management. Almost no one in a management position earned it on merit if you get my meaning, they just know how to play the game. Hard to take criticism or direction from someone that isn't qualified to be in the position. It's not a coincidence many of the employees at COCC share a last name with another employee. More than a little creepy

Worked an an engineer and my superiors didn't have a clue as to my day to day responsibility or my macro involvement for the projects I was assigned. Keep in mind these were the people I interviewed with and worked for. Very confusing, and real lack of structure and organization. Overall very disappointing. In my opinion not a great place to work
