Stay away....

Pros

It is difficult to find anything positive to say about this place or the leadership team in place. My only advice would be to stay away...

Cons

I have yet to find one employee that has been happy with their job at CONNECT since the new leadership took over (myself included). I am almost certain the positive recent review was done by a member of the leadership team hoping to overshadow the prior bad reviews. In reality, turnover has been constant and overwhelming. The issues with leadership go far beyond the offices of CONNECT, as many of the organizations that once enjoyed working with CONNECT are starting to turn away as CONNECT's reputation dwindles. San Diego executives who were once highly involved with the organization are being pushed away in order for the new leadership to hide the dire financial situation. The leadership team yelling at staff and making rude/disrespectful comments is a regular occurrence. The CEO also has an uncanny way of saying one thing to your face and then turning around and saying the complete opposite to another - not only to the CONNECT employees, but member companies, board members and other San Diego executives. It is disheartening and extremely painful to watch CONNECT flounder under the new leadership, but it is my hope something will be done to salvage what is left before the entire ship sinks.

HORRIBLE! RUN AWAY SCREAMING!

Pros

Nothing, absolutely nothing good to share about this place. Company has been floundering for the past 25 years.

Cons

Where do I start. When I was being interviewed, I was flat out told "If you're crying this week, you can take comfort in the fact that it probably won't be you getting it next week. But if you're safe this week, watch out for next week." Current CEO just laid off 5 people, of an overall staff of 20. Board is absolutely disconnected from what goes on with the employees and couldn't care any less - even though their companies have a responsibility to pay off the net loss the company runs every year. You're expected to work your butt off for entry level pay and when you leave, they just start the process all over again of replacing you. Do not care that you're leaving or try to retain you. No consistency with their programs due to the program being shifted to a new staff member every 4-5 months. Staff of 20 turned over 30 times in the brief time I was there... If that doesn't say it all, I don't know what will! Company doesn't contribute much to the benefits so your insurance is very expensive. Don't even think about adding children or spouses, they don't pay for them at all.

Pros

Horrible leadership and general abuse caused some great employees to rely on each other and their sense of humor to get through the rough patches. Formed some life-long friendships with peers.

Cons

Too many to bother listing. CONNECT has a bad reputation for a reason. Don't be fooled. Senior management does not know the meaning of transparency or ethical behavior.
