In the process of failing

Pros

Hard working team members Friendly Pretty Campus

Cons

Where to start... The campus is basically in total economic collapse. It is in the process of failing, never having had the minimum number of students (it is the size of a large high school). It had however twice as many faculty than the number of students required. In the last year there were faculty lay offs (finally!), along with both staff and management. The later two really put them over the edge, as there was already nothing left to cut. Three levels of management left in the last year, and the replacements are woefully ill prepared and unqualified, mostly local people (as who is moving to Ventura County to work for a university that is all over the news for lay offs and low enrollment?). There probably is no way to turn things around as the location isn't attractive and there are fewer student enrolling in college, but if there was a way to do that, the senior leadership currently there, do not have the skills, talent or ability to turn it around. They are also mostly not on campus, and constantly on the conference circuit, no doubt personally self- promoting for their next job, as the end is near. Again- if you are local, and need a job, ride the ride while it is still running, but there is certainly no long term potential and under no circumstances should anyone relocate to work for them, as there is limited time left.
