Pros

Stability of pay and position is likely, occasional perks like BBQs and 'team building' activities, decent medical/401/etc benefit set.

Cons

If you fit the mold, whatever it may be, then you'll have opportunities and potential to grow your success along with the companies. If not then you may be forgotten or left behind. While true of many companies, it is unfortunate that it exists here where it's typically said to be to the contrary. It's of benefit to your career to either be over-qualified for your position or friends with the right person.

Pros

people are friendly. Most employees are honest and accountable, want to make things work. Do have nice benefits. Enjoy summer company BBQ's, a nice perk. Also have nice Christmas party at end of year. Nice they are now doing community service day for all employees. Also a very giving company to charities and non-profits.

Cons

no bonuses at end of year (or during year). Don't give much time off or flex time to employees. Pay is not great compared with industry especially in lower level positions. Going public seems to have lost the companies devotion to keeping their Christian values
