Pros

Flexible schedule - you can set your own work hours Flexible material - you can teach only the lessons you want to teach Polite students - Japanese, Taiwanese, Koreans Reliable Teacher Support - They provide prompt support Flexible Salary - you can set your own lesson rates

Cons

Booking system - You can get regular students, but beware of slow seasons during holidays (Golden Week, Obon, Lunar New Year, Chuseok, etc.) You may lose students when raising lesson rates. You can create lesson packs, but adult students prefer booking individual lessons, usually once or twice a week.

Pros

As an Italian teacher working on Cafetalk, my experience with the platform has been largely positive and professionally rewarding. Cafetalk offers a well-structured and user-friendly environment that allows teachers to manage their schedules independently and connect with students from all over the world. The platform provides helpful tools for lesson management, communication, and promotions, which make it easier to focus on teaching rather than administrative tasks. One of the strongest points is the international community. Teaching students from different cultural backgrounds has enriched my professional growth and allowed me to adapt my methodology to diverse learning styles. The platform also encourages teachers to showcase their individuality, giving us the freedom to design personalized courses and set our own teaching approach. Payments are reliable and transparent, and the support team is generally responsive and professional when assistance is needed.

Cons

The commission rate may feel high, especially for new teachers who are still building their student base. Competition among teachers can be significant, requiring strong self-promotion and consistency. Income can fluctuate depending on bookings, so it may not provide immediate financial stability at the beginning.
