Pros

Decent benefits and nice people.

Cons

Staff positions are severely underpaid. Associates and Partners receive 3 bonuses while staff are barely compensated for the amount of chaos, stress, and frustration that goes on due to poor management and firm leadership. The same position I worked as in IT Dept was offered to me by another firm for 30K more than what I was being paid. The firm can afford to pay associates 3 bonuses per year but you can't compensate your staff properly? No Communication and No Transparency within the IT Dept or the Firm leadership. Firm Leadership is in process of eliminating as many Legal Assistant positions as possible. Many partners are very rude and disrespectful towards staff and makes every day operations very stressful. Admin team and directors in IT Dept are not certified or qualified to run the firm infrastructure and applications. 2 Admins are incapable of completing tasks properly and without mistakes on a daily basis. The Directors play favoritism with 2 Admins and cover their mistakes while the HelpDesk spends all day, every day putting out fires that their own department creates. Help Desk and Desktop teams suffer the wrath of frustrated lawyers with no possibilities of permanently fixing the issues because Admins and Directors ignore escalated emails from the Helpdesk and never properly test applications or updates before they are pushed out to users. Solutions that Admins and Directors provides are not trusted by Helpdesk personnel to resolve the issues at hand or permanently fix the issues that are escalated. These admins and directors are untrained and not certified as qualified engineers or administrators and therefore every application they roll out is never tested fully and ends up creating more incidents with users and countless complications. No career advancement seemed possible while I worked there. No HR department exists and partners and associates are allowed to walk all over staff anytime they see fit with no consequences. Help Desk personnel are poorly treated by partners and are disrespected even though all their troubles are caused by the carelessness of the Admin and Director teams. Also the firm built and released an evaluation system to allow lawyers and staff to evaluate staff members in an effort to fire and let go the floor secretaries and legal assistants. Staff were encouraged to post evaluations of their fellow staff members. Please note they also did not allow the system to let staff members evaluate associates and partners... When I posted evaluations of my fellow department members including the 4 people noted above and the status of this department, I was terminated from employment because my Directors did not like my evaluations that they encouraged us to give.

Pros

Generous vacation, good healthcare options, flex spending, business at the firm is excellent. Revenues are up, which means the company is thriving. Associates receive 3 bonuses a year.

Cons

Management is committed to shifting admin and paralegal to outside contractors. Steps are continually being taken to ensure support staff feels like factory workers on the precipice of losing their jobs (micromanaging clocking in/out for workdays).

Pros

Stable, decent benefits, nice office space.

Cons

No one cares about the employees, little to no growth for upward mobility, the senior authority only cares for themselves. Overworked, underpaid. Office politics are sticky and people are too nosy. It's like high school.
