Pros

Free lunch and covered parking. Easy commute.

Cons

Management there loves their yes men and I mean it when I say men. Don't expect any respect or credit for your work if you are female, unless you complement the men and stroke their egos. Too many people are kept in senior roles because of their ability to talk themselves up and suck up to management. The real workers who are getting things done get no credit. Its all about putting on a good show here. Performance and AUM have been on a downhill slide for years because of this approach.

Company in Turmoil

Pros

Great facility, free lunch and snacks, nice people, good work/life balance. Employees are very friendly and want to be helpful to new employees when they are hired.

Cons

Company feels unstable. Morale is low. Turnover has gone through the roof over the past few months - CIO, chief risk officer, chief compliance officer, head of human resources all gone. Also several senior analysts on the investment team have left. Company recently lost its largest institutional client and put on hold by largest retail client due to high turnover.

Pros

I was an analyst on the investment team. There are many smart people there who worked hard who want to improve investment performance. Most of the new analysts are leaving or are looking for new jobs.

Cons

For years the company has had negative investment performance and sales outflows. The CIO just left who was hired to turn around performance and was replaced by four portfolio managers who are called Co-CIOs which is a joke. Most of the senior analysts and the chief risk officer brought in by the CIO have left or are looking for jobs. The company is going back to the old model of using the CEO's top down macro outlook and their basic quantitative tools and which doesn't need analyst inputs. There is no investment culture and many analysts spend their time looking for jobs rather than analyzing companies.
