Pros

SchoolNet Camara Lesotho (Camara) is a not-for-profit organization that provides affordable, high-quality donated ICT equipment – loaded with free educational software and e-learning materials – to schools and other educational institutions. The Camara package includes: free, mandatory teacher training; support and advice on setting up a computer lab; technical and maintenance support; and regular follow-up checks and visits. Camara's application of technology seeks to improve education, and by that to address the cycle of poverty that has afflicted Sub-Saharan Africa for generations. The approach advocated by Camara – which exploits modern technologies and e-learning methods to deliver, support and enhance the educational curriculum – has many applications and benefits for disadvantaged communities in Lesotho. By adding to the existing infrastructure at schools, and by providing high-value educational content at a low cost-per-head, e-learning becomes an attractive, affordable and measurably beneficial option. We believe that, if the power of ICT can be properly harnessed for education delivery and building human capital, Africa can make great strides towards achieving its development goals. Technology has the potential not only to enhance formal education but also to provide opportunities for livelihoods, to empower women and to enhance the prevention and treatment of medical conditions affecting people in extreme poverty. Camara's approach is unique in the developing world. Worldwide, a number of NGO's work to bridge the Digital Divide by providing technology to schools at an affordable price. Camara does this as well; however, its mission is not just to deliver computers but to enhance education through the use of technology. Therefore, we consider computers as tools that can only be properly exploited with continuous and targeted training for educators – as well as technical support – to ensure that they are used in an appropriate pedagogical manner

Cons

Lesotho Communications Authority I was responsible and accountable for all cashflows while reporting to funders to retain and attain vision and Mission of such projects, and they have been a success. Those projects are; School Connect funded by the Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) for two (2) years, where we were working on the Configuration and Internet connectivity at Schools. Vodacom Lesotho We also worked in collaboration with Vodacom Lesotho(VCL) , still implementing Internet Connectivity at different Schools across the ten (10) districts and I was responsible and accountable for all cashflows and the provision of Financial and activity reports. UNICEF LESOTHO Lastly, the most recent project was Strengthening MoET Online Learning during COVID-19 & Beyond funded by UNICEF.
