Pros

* Individual coworkers are above average in friendliness * Onsite lunch and facilities are excellent * Octopus company car scheme and free onsite charging is a valuable perk * IT and business support teams want to accelerate project progress and are great to work with, helping you feel nimble while at work

Cons

* Career progression is a weak point especially for mid-level, recent improvements are being made but yet to materialise * There has been a downward trend in motivation, after several rounds of employee attrition. The bedrock of employees that set the great culture, that the management claim to want to preserve, have mostly gone or are in survival mode. * Recent management decisions only seem to reinforce the lack of real value of being an Employee Owned busines, which claims to benefit both current and future employees. However, despite consistent feedback to management emphasing poor communication and lack of trust, decisions have been made yet again that seems to sacrifice current employee sentiment even further, with an attitude that seems to not value them as also the future employees.

Pros

You actually do engineering here - building stuff not just powerpoint decks. The people are really smart and pretty down to earth. It’s easy to ask questions and you pick things by osmosis. Loads of variety - you won’t get bored. Recently it’s felt more settled. For a while it was a bit directionless but it feels steadier now. Being an employee-owned company, people really care. Fantastic in-house restaurant - yum!

Cons

It can get busy quickly when client timelines change. You might be on several projects at once and it can be a lot to cope with. Training is a bit hit-and-miss. Some teams are brilliant at helping juniors, but mostly you fend for yourself with little HR support. Sometimes you end up re-doing things because different projects do the same things in different ways. Leadership and sales teams of variable quality and morality.
