Great company philosophies that are used to back up trivial and completely arbitrary decisions.

Pros

The company philosophies are inspiring and make you feel like you work for a truly exceptional company. Ex: associates come first, open and honest communication, better today than we were yesterday, making raving fans, etc. I've also been able to walk with large amounts of money on certain nights.

Cons

Literally none of the philosophies are followed, more so used advantageously when backing up firing associates or other flat out dumb decisions (promoting the laziest and least competent servers to supervisor positions). This is a giant smoke and mirrors operation of 'great people delivering genuine hospitality', that is as honest and personable as a cardboard cutout of Cameron's face.

-You can hopefully make just enough money to support yourself. -Health insurance is offered, but is a "mini-plan". It is hopeful that you don't ever face a serious medical condition because you will have difficulty obtaining enough medical coverage to cover the expenses. Combined with a low wage, that could be extremely detrimental to your financial well-being.

Cons

-Management and Upper Management is treated much better than "associates" in terms of benefits and "perks/ bonuses/ and rewards". This is blatantly obvious to the associates and is very disheartening to see, which results in low morale and general unhappiness. For a company that emphasizes "putting our associates first" as part of their core philosophy, this hardly seems to pertain anymore. -There are only so many spots to grow or move up within the company even though they are a growing company. Your fate is determined to whether upper management likes you enough to give you a chance. Definite office politics going on here.
