Pros

Good team members. Decent low level management.

Cons

I’ve been with the company for quite a few years now. They were owned by a Canadian, Doug Hall. They were bought out by an Indian based company, Banyan. Banyan has been mass laying off employees since they’ve acquired the company. They continue to eliminate roles within Canada, replacing them with foreigners in other countries.

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that you've found value in the environment created by your teammates and leadership. Our team members are truly at the heart of what makes Camis a great workplace. The Banyan Group of Companies represents a global footprint, with the majority of employees serving from their Toronto, Ontario headquarters. Within that group, Camis proudly serves our North American clients for more than 40 years from our 4 offices across North America but also welcomes employees who bring a diversity of experiences from around the world, which we believe aligns with our core values, enriches our employee culture, and strengthens our ability to serve our clients' needs more broadly.

Pros

First off you get paid VERY well for the amount of work you do. During the summer it's fast paced and the company integrates the "FISH!" Program which is so much fun and inspiring. During the winter there is a lot more down time and management is great with allowing you to study, color, read etc. Ultimately it's a great place to work. I worked in retail for 5 years and worked my butt off and didn't make nearly as much as entry level at Camis. Whether you're looking for a seasonal job or something long term it's a great opportunity. Honestly amazes me how high the turnover rate is (not because it's easy to be fired, people just stop showing up or keep violating the very lenient discipline policy)

Cons

I see people on here writing that it's "easy to get fired" etc but it's really not. Yes you will be disciplined for having your phone out at your desk (it is a secure environment, it's a security issue) and there is progressive discipline for being late but that is true in ANY job. If you're an adult and you can't be to work on time, that's not the company's problem it's yours. The one bad thing I would say is that sometimes there are late shifts, but management does a good job about rotating so you won't always be working night shifts. And you have to pay to park in downtown Ann Arbor but they offer the Go Pass which gets you on the bus system.
