Out of Touch

Pros

- 9/80 work schedule can be nice but only because the workload is so heavy and poorly managed that you need a break every 9 days. - The people who have worked there for a while seem very happy but under the surface it appeared that a lot of them could not get positions elsewhere or were afraid/too lazy to look for other jobs. - With a change in leadership and proper management training the leaders who care for their employees could turn the company around but this is unlikely as the owner of the company cannot let go and his successors can not run the company without him. - Talented people who want to do good work but are constantly put in situations that compromise them and take away from their overall effectiveness.

Cons

- No proper leadership training which results in out of touch and often ignorant management styles due to a lack of outside experience and poor leadership. Employees and management are allowed to do whatever they want with very little oversight. - Various harassment of all types and insubordination from the top down. The CEO has created an environment where he can make excuses for any of his behavior and his staff follows suit with a lack of accountability. - Every employee who quit while I was there seemed to do so for the same reasons. The leadership is out of touch and only concerned about maintaining their bottom line to cash in on their investment and their employees know it. The only employees who remain after several years as a business are people who have only worked at Campos and have no work, leadership experience or guidance outside of their current positions. - The entire company consists of people who are overworked and shown appreciation in very superficial and meaningless ways. This is a very divided company that can't put out one fire without creating a new one due to a lack of experience and unwillingness to accept that the current way of running the company is not working. - The "values" of the company only apply when being used as a threat or to brag. Don't be fooled by the very loud show they put on to make themselves appear to have a moral center. They are lying to you and to themselves about who they would like to be.

Lots of Positive Change Happening

Pros

The firm is uniquely positioned to provide multiple services on one project so there’s times when design and field services teams work together. Cross training is also available to employees so you can learn more about the building process. There’s opportunity to practice innovative skills. Leadership listens to those who have ideas and lead the effort in making processes/services better. Employees have in-house resources to help incorporate new technologies and tools into their ideas. Lots of creative people that are changing our firm for the better! A good firm culture that is continuing to improve. A work-family environment where colleagues become good friends. Lots of annual competitions, such as chili cook-off and Halloween costume competition. A 9/80 work schedule and holiday calendar which results in several long weekends off through the year.

Cons

There can be a small firm mentality at times when people have to do more than their job description. So many objectives can make people less effective.

Pros

-9/80 work schedule is great because it allows you to do things outside of work that would normally require taking away from your PTO; however they will normally ask you to work that day. -Able to talk directly to CEO - Quality equipment -Always incorporating new technology into making work more efficient

Cons

-Management overworks their employees and pay them the bare minimum -No training program. Their method of training is "learn what you can in the field" which leads to their technicians not knowing what to do -Because the company pays most employees by salary and not hourly, they submit bonuses usually twice a year. They will use this bonus as a bribe to have you work more hours than required. Once you receive your bonus, you become really disappointed at the fact you could have worked they extra hours flipping burgers and made more money. -Expense reports are a hassle. The biggest expense is gas mileage reimbursement. 4 vehicles may show up to the jobsite and only one can claim mileage. -No morale. The company my try to come off as a family oriented atmosphere during the interview process but this is a mask. They do not care about their employees or neither do they treat them like family. They will get rid of loyal employees if it means a little extra cash in their pockets.
