Pros

Some truly lovely co-workers, instantly recognizable name in the arts/culture industry

Cons

Cliquish office, poor/non-existent HR department, overly personal environment that creates blurred (and uncomfortable) lines

Pros

It had a great culture, people who cared about you, the clients were amazing to work with.

Cons

Pay is below market rate, and they fired more than half their staff to keep afloat. It was a messed up situation for everyone involved and didn't reflect the company values.

Capacity Interactive Response

Hi There, We're starting the practice of responding to reviews when applicable as part of our ongoing efforts to bring transparency and accountability to more areas of our work. First, we want to thank you for your feedback. We acknowledge that laying off a large portion of our staff has had a profound impact on everyone involved. It was a decision we did not make lightly, and we hope to never be in that position again. Regarding employee compensation, we acknowledge that serving non-profit clients has a direct impact on the compensation we are able to offer. We have formed an internal committee to, among other things, revisit our compensation structure. While it may not result in monumental changes, we are hopeful this exercise will lead to positive change. If you'd like to talk more, please reach out to Molly Shoemaker, Manager of People Operations (mshoemaker@capacityinteracitve.com).

Pros

Decent snacks and made a few, awesome friendships (miss them).

Cons

CI is a place where employees are living in their own little digital marketing bubble. The entire company is very clique-y and if you don't fit into the so called "CI mold" you're immediately not part of the family. They (upper management) act very nice and preach about employee happiness, but they don't know how to listen and understand the difficult obstacles you're facing at work. Upper management and team leaders trick you into thinking that they're being open and willing to help but they cast this unspoken expectation over you and if you fall short on these expectations, instead of trying to help, they put you through different tests to see how you'll fail and ultimately "let you go". The company vibe and environment is just weird and everyone there thinks they're the smartest people -- a huge turn-off, and honestly felt anxious and scared to go in to work everyday.
