Pros
Some lovely people who are there because they care about their clients. Good amount of responsibility
Cons
Awful pay for the amount of work expected of you. Ridiculous billable targets that are almost impossible to meet as partners are reducing what you can record as chargeable as they are on a fixed fee model. Also, expect to be given work that is outside of what is agreed and be told to get on with it Pressure to deliver trickles down from partners to solicitors and to paralegals who carry out almost all the work for the least pay. Leads to some nasty solicitors who take it out on paralegals. Absolutely no regard for an individuals work load or mental health with some solicitors bombarding you with work. Expect to work around the clock to just stay on top of your workload. Cliquey environment in the office and recently a high turnover with some ambitious and smart people realising it is not worth it. Management also literally rub your face in with how much money they make per case you deliver, making you feel worthless and even more poorly compensated. Poor training with work constantly criticised
