Pros

Helping the hearing-impaired community, green office, free coffee, working in the media production industry, very liberal staff, controlled-access building, private parking lot.

Cons

Extremely isolating work, fast track to carpal tunnel syndrome, poor project management, very inefficient approach to work, failure of management to communicate with employees and treat them as valuable, problematic holiday schedule, unhelpful HR.

Pros

The people are mostly pretty pleasant, free coffee, snacks...

Cons

I suspect the reason everyone is so nice is because we're all dying of loneliness, especially swing shift. This is pretty much the most isolating job in existence. It's also incredibly physically damaging to your hands, ears, and back. You will be in braces within the first 6 months, and most of the long-timers have significant hearing loss. And while your coworkers are nice people, management is awful and demanding. The pay is terrible, considering both the physical strain and the specialist knowledge that is required to do this job.

Pros

It's a very relaxed company culture with cool, like-minded, truly caring people who work alongside you. Free coffee (and oftentimes snacks) are available throughout the day. Company outings are pretty cool--Valley Fair, MN Rollergirls, and Saints games, etc. There are limited opportunities to move up the ladder, but if you an express an interest, people will do all they can to help you get there or expand your skill set. It may take longer than you'd like, but you can get there with patience. Insurance and 401k plans are very good.

Cons

Pay is unfortunate. Workload has dramatically increased over the past couple of years. The work, which can be rewarding and fun at times, has become extremely high-pressure and stressful. Management only cares about money and making a sale.
