Pros

Happy. It's that simple. I might be old fashioned but I expect to work hard and be treated fairly. I think I get more than that at my job. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I can work from home during snow days. My schedule can be a little flexible if I need to come in late and make up the time. I don't feel micro managed as long as I get the work done. And there is always some sort of employee social activity happening. I can't ask for much more! Work is work and that will never change but I am a happy employee who will stay for a while.

Cons

Some key senior leaders left the company and it left a sour taste in the mouths of some. Didn't bother me much because after 12 years and 19 years at a company who wouldn't want a change? Another con is the fast pace which can feel like a great challenge at times but overwhelming at times.

Pros

Our work has a social mission: We make a difference for people in crisis every day. We help people navigate eldercare and make it easier for them to focus on their loved ones instead of trying to learn everything on their own. Career growth: I started in 2008 as the finance leader. I was promoted a few years later to lead operations and again recently to lead the business. Past and current business leadership has always supported my development when I took the initiative to learn other functions of the business beyond my own. I've always gone above and beyond my responsibilities to help out when I've seen that there has been a business need. I believe this has been a key component of my success here. The opportunity to truly influence the business: Given the size of the company and pace of growth the ability to meaningfully influence the business is available to everyone, in any function. If you see a problem you can talk about it and propose solutions. They may not always be implemented but you can still stand out as someone who is thinking about how to improve what we do and as someone who takes initiative and who cares. The people here are great: There is a diverse mix of career backgrounds and experiences here which I love because I am constantly learning from them and am challenged to think about things from many different points of view. The people I work with are supportive of each other and care about the work they do. Everyone here works really hard! I genuinely enjoy the people I work with. The CareScout Cares group: Volunteer group with a mission to help create a positive employee experience and foster community service and teamwork. The team is enthusiastic and creative and they come up with great ideas and functions that bring people together. Fast breaks: It is fun to work with the managers to come up with engaging employee recognition activities. We frequently take 'fast breaks' to give everyone an unexpected break from their work and have a little fun (and usually involves food). We do this to say thank you for everyone's hard work. The managers really get excited about planning these breaks and will often compete with each other to out perform the previous activity. The company benefits: 4 weeks of time off to start, full health benefits, casual dress code, generous 401K matching, etc.

Cons

Career paths are not as clearly defined: There is career growth here but sometimes the path isn't clear and you have to create your own. Super fast growth: So fast that we've been understaffed and while there are worse business problems to have that can be very hard on people. This pace is not for everyone.
