Pros

nice team, good infrastructure as far as ATS and commission plans are competitive.

Cons

Not alot of flexibility as far as work/life balance, they offer unlimited PTO but you can tell they didn't want you to take it as they kept creating more and more "rules" for how and when you could request it. They would also track it in a spreadsheet that they sent out weekly so everyone could see. There were also issues with favoritism where some people were allowed to show up to and leave work whenever they wanted with no penalty, while others faced disciplinary action for running 10 minutes late or leaving 5 minutes early. Micro-management is a huge issue, once you start doing well, they pick apart budgets and margins to death, making it difficult to retain travelers and continue making more money in the long run. If you're not at your desk within 5 minutes of your "in" time, management would text you asking where you are. Management would also send inappropriate emails at 10 pm about "drama" in the workplace and would refuse to speak one on one with employees about issues, lending to a very passive aggressive environment. The bulk of the disciplinary action was put on the shoulders of the Team Leads, who also run their own desk. You never knew where you stood with management because you could be hitting numbers then all of a sudden youre pulled into a meeting with your team lead to discuss "issues". Management would also complain regularly that budget issues would take money out of their pockets, when the truth was that recruiter commissions take all of the hit with budget issues, even if it was an accounting department error. Also, all commissions are sent out to the entire company except for management's commission plan, which I thought was odd. They've truly lost a lot of the culture that drew me in--Cariant used to be a family-owned boutique agency that truly cared about travelers, but with the pandemic, they saw dollar signs and started becoming extremely money-motivated. They fought allowing recruiters to work from home during the pandemic but then turned around and hired remote recruiters. When in-office recruiters asked why they couldn't work from home, management said they couldn't trust that work was going to get done.

Pros

I've been working at Cariant Health Partners (in the home office) for more than three years and really love it here. There is no micro-managing and a lot of flexibility to work in the manner that is best for you. But, that means there is a lot of accountability, too! Definitely a team environment. At least once a week someone does something thoughtful for the entire team, like bringing in snacks for everyone, or veggies from the garden, or making fresh pizzas in the office for lunch. And every Friday we make breakfast for the entire team, which is always appreciated, and delicious. Lots of room to be successful here if you put in the work.

Cons

The accountability is only a con if you do not have the mindset to work hard and smart. Reap what you sow.
