Pros

You will realize your worth and whats truly important to you and what kind of environment and people you want to surround yourself with and grow with.

Cons

I compare my time at Carling Communications to being in an extremely toxic relationship. You are constantly being criticized, put down, underappreciated, feeling always on edge, and just down right miserable. I was in a similar position to a lot of people probably reading these reviews before I took the job at carling. I was unhappy at my last job and ready for a new change and a new challenge. I read the reviews here and it definitely made me nervous, but I convinced myself that a lot of them must be disgruntled employees who got let go or fired due to lack of motivation or whatever it may be, so against my better judgement I decided to give it a try.. and boy, did i really regret that decision. l quickly realized once I started at Carling how truly unhealthy it really was there. There is no such thing as a "team" there, such as a team working together towards a goal and supporting each other. Its actually the complete opposite, everyone is constantly throwing each other under the bus, pointing fingers, and theres a lot of bashing and talking behind each others backs. Imagine your worst high school experience and times that by 1000. The client services team is absolutely crazy, they make up these completely unrealistic client deadlines and basically set everyone on their "team" up for failure, and then publically shame and humiliate them when they cant meet that deadline because its not humanly possible. And yes, the CEO is as crazy as you read here on other reviews. I would come home and tell stories about what she said in meetings and how she treated people at work, and my friends and family would not believe me. It was so ludacris that they thought I was making it up. But no, its 100% true. She always talks about how she reads these reviews and it hurts her and it hurts her business and how she feels "bullied" by it, but she fails to take any responsibility. These reviews are real and come from people that worked their buts off for her and her company and were treated like crap in return, not only by her but the management and people she chooses to employ. Im surprised they havent been sued for workplace harassment yet. It is never okay to yell at an employee either in a meeting or infront of everyone in the office and tell them they arent valuable and they have no worth. A leader should be motivating and supportive, and that just doesnt exist at Carling. I could go on and on about my experience there. It greatly affected me because I saw so many awesome talented people treated so poorly and that's what affected me the most. Im not writing this to complain or vent, trust me, i've done that already, but to show people what its truly like at Carling because I dont want anyone else to have to go through it. There are so many awesome companies out there that will invest in you, support you, and help you grow, and if thats important to you, then Carling is not for you.

Pros

Great benefits. Fun office environment - provided tvs and ping pong table. Provided snacks and beverages. Flexible schedules for those higher up. Provided laptops.

Cons

Very little respect from management in the lower positions. Overheard the second in command say "If somebody mentions wanting a work-life balance in their interview, we don't want to hire them." Ridiculous hours and ridiculous requests.
