Pros

Paid time leave and holiday pay

Cons

Do yourself a favor, avoid this company at all costs. I am here currently because I simply need a pay check. As soon as something else comes up, I am leaving. Listen I get it. Sometimes people hate their job and complain, right? Everywhere you work, you won’t like everyone, that is a fact. This is entirely different.  For example, there is a supervisor that's a family member who uses their last name to attack anyone they don't like. They deliberately get raises for their department and their “supply clerk” (best way I can describe this employee as no one really knows what the correct job title is) when no other department did. Just three weeks ago there was a massive layoff, we can assume they are the manipulators behind it all. It all comes down to a simple reason, whoever they don't like they fire and lay off. This company has three buildings and this supervisor has got eyes in every building. Three besties are this supervisor's watch dogs in the Admin building. The environment at this company is toxic. They rehired a COO who was fired as the CEO of another company. Two weeks ago, they again rehired a CEO that quit 4 or so years ago for almost ruining the company. One of his first meetings back with the company he addressed the Glassdoor reviews, calling the people "crybabies" for being fired/laid off. Can you believe that?? This company is the laughing stock of the industry. In fact, they are on full life support so getting a job with them won't do you much good. You cannot escape the wrath of the female supervisor I mentioned above. So please, if you're not a chemist considering this job, dear lord stay away or stay out of her way. Anyone considering employment with this company, my best advice to you is to stay out or you better be a heck of a good butt kisser. Nearly everyone in this company feels the same so there is that camaraderie amongst us. We have that going for us at least...

Pros

As long as you agree with how upper mgmt is moving along, you will continue to get a paycheck! Paycheck, 8-5, nothing more is expected of employees, nepotism and favoritism has worked great for me! Free parking, coffee, tea, and water!!

Cons

Company thrives on nepotism and favoritism, which is great for me as I am one of the favorites of a family member!! Proactivity and empowerment is NOT welcome here at all!! Raises are non-existent as well. If you want to contribute to the betterment of an organization, I wouldn’t recommend applying here. This place is great for the ‘below to low average’ thinker as you have to do what you are told. Bonuses were a total joke this year!! Rumor has it that the same day that bonuses were paid out to employees, someone in upper mgmt received approximately the same amount in a raise. They do not believe in training or educating their employees. Their version of training is that you sit and read the SOP’s for hours on end. At one point, the CEO threatened the employees with a lawsuit if they made any mistakes. Big brother is always watching and monitoring you! Micromanagement, security cameras are being monitored by upper mgmt on a consistent basis. Below market pay for every dept except for the one headed by a family member. Upper mgmt gets a company car and free benefits for their entire family while lower level employees are lucky to scrape by on minimum wage. Absolutely no growth opportunity! Complete language barrier; Upper mgmt dictates break and lunch times. Exempt employees need to notate the payroll system if they are taking personal time. Wage and hour laws continue to be broken on a daily basis!! They are now working on their 3rd CEO in approximately 7 months, what does that say about the leadership at this company. You will thrive in this environment if your motto is: Yes, I will do whatever you say, even if it is ethically and morally wrong. The CSO, COO, and CEO are referred to as the 3 Stooges, which was a great tv show. However, this is real life and it’s just not funny how they treat people. Truly believe this place is run by Satan!!

Pros

- Good health insurance for employee - Cultural horizons (Fellow co-workers share traditional food and you will learn a lot of Asian culture)

Cons

- Tries to motivate employees by threatening them. - The CEO monitors you by computer and by surveillance camera all the time. - Pay is on the lower end of the spectrum. - Being that it's a Taiwan based company, many informal and formal meetings shift from English to Mandarin/Cantonese. If you do not know the language, you will be left out. - Obvious nepotism
