Stay Far Away From This Toxic Company!

Pros

Nothing is good about this company

Cons

This is the most unorganized company I have ever worked for in my life. Senior management has no idea what they are doing and there is no vision. It is the blind leading the blind. There is no cohesiveness and direction. They are only surviving because of a few big contracts they have, but other than that, they are dead in the water. They love letting people go for no reason and devalue their development employees. On top of everything though, they have no regard for employees first. They are only concerned about the bottom line and nothing else matters. For an organization that states that they are mission lead, that is a bunch of lies! They are as corporate as they come and they will let skilled, productive, and loyal people go just to save a few bucks. Stay far away from this company and utilize your talents with someone who will value you and your skillets.

Pros

Great folks working in the trenches. Amazing professional learning team.

Cons

Terrible leadership. Lack of internal and external processes. Not customer focused. And too expensive for most districts to purchase. Unclear vision and mission ( feels a bit like there’s a child behind an Oz- like curtain calling the shots) Complete disconnect with marketplace. Work load placed on sales team is too much to really sell. Lack of clear understanding about realistic quotas for new business vs existing business. ( remember the child behind the curtain previously mentioned?)

Good people, poor leadership

Pros

CL still attracts some of the best minds out there. People are passionate and willing to work hard. The "worker bees" are awesome and doing everything they can to help teachers and students succeed. If you are lucky enough to be able to stay in your "bubble", you will do well.

Cons

Good press and awards do not reflect the entire organization, but only pockets of it. Poor culture rewards the wrong behaviors and encourages playing the hero and being reactive. Lack of transparency and effective leadership from managers to senior leadership to the C-suite. Inconsistent policies, processes, salaries, and job descriptions across different areas. No real path to advancement. So-so benefits.
