Pros

Great brand to work for and has a massive reputation now Talented staff Fun initiatives that are unique in the market CPS is good for getting staff together as long as the right people are running them Get to travel a bit and meet industry people Priority groups are a good idea but the CEO insists people do them her way and takes control. Run too many of the priority groups and when people don't get their day jobs done they get into trouble Before I left staff were getting more updates but sometimes can drag on too long Getting away early on the first Friday of the month was good and the morning rolls. It was a small touch but made a difference Getting to work from home is really helpful and managers are flexible

Cons

CEO is not a good leader and often speaks down to people, including the senior team and line managers. Rudeness comes natural and everyone is too scared to challenge. Acts like a teacher and doesn't like people being too noisy, thinks they aren't working when they are Publisher has some good ideas but arrogant when people disagree so people start to just agree because it's too stressful to argue your point. When things go wrong they like to blame others. When they meet people or if new people come into the business, the publisher is brainwashed that their ideas are great and then don't listen to staff who have been there longer Third owner is a nice guy but it clearly overruled by the other two owners and that sadly makes them look weak. He used to visit us in London quite a bit but don't think the other owners bothered that much with Scotland and are quite derogatory about the Glasgow staff Targets are issued late because the budgets never get signed off in good time and that isn't fair I have witnessed people being pushed out of the business because the CEO or Publisher don't like them and the line managers can't do anything about it Owners don't take responsibility for things and tend to blame others Unless you ask for more money you never get it

Pros

You will get to work with an amazing team and talented people.

Cons

Be aware that many positive reviews in here have been given by the leadership team forced to do so or by the company owners! At the Drum, life and work balance doesn't exist. You will end up working more than 10 hours per day, sometimes also on weekends for a low/mediocre wage. Overtime is not paid and you are lucky if your line manager agrees to give you a few days in lieu. Bonuses are given to the staff once a year (only if targets are hit) but won't pay for the amount of overtime worked. Ridiculous benefits: a weekly bowl of fruit in the office before covid, and an extra £25 each over Christmas to pay for our lunches. Training plan is a joke: you won't get a penny if you decide to take on a training and your development plan consists in your commitment to take up more work. Staff isn't valued and you will have to work very hard to get a promotion which will probably come with no or an insignificant pay rise. The HR manager at The Drum doesn't exists: this will make you understand how much they care about their employees.
