      Pros

      Support from the others on the analyst team was great.

      Cons

      Research was too focused on lagging metals and mining industries. Gold-related editors completely missed major trends and never changed their "Buy gold" position. Also, too much doom and gloom.

      Pros

      Ability to work remotely provides flexibility, Work is interesting and allows for creative expression, i.e. writing articles and investment recommendations. Analysts analyze all sorts of investments, which gives broad perspective

      Cons

      No formal training. Learn as you go environment. Analysts cover many different industries/investment types which makes it hard to develop a specialty.
