CEO thinks he's Supreme Commander of the People of Caspio

Pros

* Air-conditioning in the summer but you're probably being watched on camera. * Some of the kindest people work there, but they're being taken advantage of...

Cons

* Lack of vision and product definition. * CEO loves to play Kim Jong Un: Show off his vacation photos at company meetings, dress up for and win every Halloween contest. * Company brags about being "self-funded" which translates to lack of accountability. * People are consistently paid 30% less than others in comparable positions and industries. * Absolutely rigid no-work-from-home policy, rigid hours in-hours out. Must take one hour for lunch. Very prison-like feel. (only thing missing is a punch-card machine). * They keep changing pricing, product use-cases too often for the poor sales team to keep up.

Pros

Not much to say here...

Cons

This is the WORST place I have ever worked for and solely because of the CEO. The relationship between an employee and manager, especially a CEO, should be one of mutual respect and support. Instead, Frank (the CEO) used bullying, degradation, and verbal abuse as a management style. Not only is it unconscionable to work in such a hostile environment, but it is also physically and mentally debilitating to work in such a stressful and uncomfortable place. I have documented and brought specific instances to HR to help find a solution and intervene with Frank's inappropriate behavior but no changes were made to help make this a safe work environment. Caspio has been reported to the Department of Workforce Services many times and is up against many lawsuits because of how the CEO treats his staff.

Pros

Some nice people work here, and I enjoyed spending time with them outside of work. Somehow, they seem to care about the company, but sadly the CEO never recognizes their effort. I learned the importance of being selective in my job search.

Cons

This is not the company to work for if you'd like to progress your career. There are a host of employees who continue to work at Caspio because of their loyalty to the CEO, despite their blatant incompetence. It's extremely hard to imagine these employees getting hired anywhere else. The low energy, low skill environment is exhausting to experience daily. It's impossibly hard to describe all of the things wrong here. There's no reason to settle for Caspio in a place like the Bay Area.
