+ A bright and talented team. It's humbling, but working together with smart people is the best way to learn fast.
+ People work hard and are dedicated. But not too hard, work-life-balance is not nan issue.
+ This company is going places and doing good things. It's nice to work in a company that has a good product that's developing quickly and that our customers seem to enjoy.
Cons
+ It's a startup so things change more quickly than in an established company.
+ If you are looking for deep specialisation this might not be for you. In a startup of this size people have to be more generalist.
I've worked in design my whole career with teams of all types of industry and sizes, however, I have never come across a team or company culture that is as passionate, laser-focused, and value-driven as Castle.
I left the comfort of my home country New Zealand to work for Castle in San Francisco, but the company has been super supportive in making sure my transition into this city smooth and comforting.
Everyone has a deep understanding of the problems our customers are facing and are able to provide highly intelligent solutions to meet their needs (just the kind of smart and passionate people I like to look with/for).
Cons
We are still reasonably early and growing super rapidly, teams and their dynamics are still organically forming and new processes are being introduced on a regular basis to support the growth which can be exciting but also hectic.
