Pros

Hmm there aren't really any positive points, hmm I guess improved "attention to detail"?

Cons

I don't know where to begin. I was working in the Operations team, and pretty much from the very first day set the tone for the whole internship. My direct manager the COO was a highly temperamental person, impatient and irritable. Even a slight error would cause annoyance, and would ultimately lead to him shouting at some intern sometimes needlessly. Sometimes it was none of the interns fault - but he was always trying to pin the blame on someone. He's never wrong, and neither is there any accountability for him if he does make a mistake. Instead, all his stress falls us, we bear the brunt. When I was working there we hardly were not getting paid anything at all. Yet, we as interns were expected to operate the whole business without any support from the rest of the management team (which just showed how much they valued and cared about us ) - just a COO who never showed us appreciation at all. Only blame and anger. We were made to feel that our value was equated to what our remuneration was - almost nothing. So we were underpaid, overworked, and over-stressed - does that sound like an employee who will give his/her very best for an organization? Well CaterSpot claiming to be a "start-up" seems to think so. A start-up with a top-down hierarchy, where the interns are expected to do all the dirty work. These sentiments were not just shared by a single intern. But many interns who were actually very bright, smart and capable and whom CaterSpot would have benefitted from full time employment, left earlier than anticipated because of the above reasons. So please think twice before interning at CaterSpot. You are better than that.

[Update] This COO is no longer working at CaterSpot. I wanted to provide an update to this post, since I just realized it was left unanswered, even though it was discussed in person. After supporting this COO with coaching to improve his managerial shortcomings, we didn’t manage to achieve the change needed and parted ways amicably. And once again, we're deeply sorry you had a bad experience and wish you the best in current and future endeavors.

Pros

Much freedom, they don't really check on your work unless you don't meet their expectation.

Cons

-Everyone has their own things to do, but there's no "substitute" in every job position. So if you fall sick, you're still expected to turn up or do work from home as no one else will be able to do for you. That being said, if you plan to take leave you have to plan months ahead. -Open to feedbacks but doesn't really work on it. -If you're a minor, get ready to be blamed for everything as the upper hands always cover each other's faults. -Overload you with task as much as they can. Can be out of your jobscope too.

Thank you for your review! We always appreciate the good words and try to improve based on the feedback.None of our employees is asked to request Annual Leave months ahead - we provide high level of independence to our team and as such we expect a high level of responsibility. It's the arrangement that our team enjoys the most. You can take leave or work remotely anytime - as long as you're responsible for your work.
