Don't do it

Pros

you meet some lovely committed volunteers

Cons

there can never be enough volunteers. The upper levels of management are abysmal. It's impossible to do the job required in a normal working week, and they're continually moving the goal posts to ask for more.

A mess

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Majority great volunteers and junior team staff

Cons

Poor management at many levels. Volunteers continue to be tolerated when they speak openly in a detrimental way about the disadvantaged in society (refugees, the disabled, etc). CEO vain beyond belief. About to endure a shitstorm due to reduction in income which apparently came as a massive surprise. Why continue with a rebrand in November if in December you are talking about the real prospect of the charity not being able to be audited as a going concern? Many vacant posts have been deleted or left vacant for months causing an inevitable detriment to wider performance. I am sure this will continue. The man at the top appears unaccountable - John May you have presided over a costly rebrand within weeks of declaring a financial crisis.
