Pros

Excellent location in a beautiful city Pub lunches

Cons

Highly pressurised working environment Highly skilled staff often overlooked and aren't attributed credit Underhand tactics and poor communication exhibited regularly by those in management Limited career opportunities unless you are exceedingly friendly with management Senior management unapproachable Long hours - regularly expect to work through your lunch and stay late Limited HR policy - due to the size of the company, it's very difficult to consult someone should you have a problem Staff are constantly competing with each other culminating in a toxic environment Very male dominated

Pros

- Variety in workload - Opportunity to work with some very talented people - Good social aspect - Generous unofficial paid holiday over Christmas - Office based in a desirable location in London close to transport links

Cons

- Unpaid overtime is expected, where not working through your lunch or staying late will be noted against you - Poor salary for employees at beginning of their career - Expect management to take credit for junior staff's hard work when liaising with clients and more senior staff - Junior staff are often subjected to unreasonable deadlines, poor organisation and micromanagement by directors - Confusing hierarchy - Male dominated management, with different expectations set for male/female in the same job role - High employee turnover rates. Every month I worked at BECG somebody left, out of an office of approximately 25 people. Witnessed many talented people either walk away or be forced out of BECG, which will only be to the detriment of the company that has lost their talents - No real regard for employee wellbeing. Witnessed many an employee breakdown because of the pressure they were put under by senior management, with no real support from line managers or HR. More interested in how much money they can make and how much output they can squeeze out of each individual

Thank you for your review. It’s obviously disappointing to read such a list of your perceived negatives. We welcome and actively encourage feedback from all of our staff, although it’s also important to address some of these inaccuracies. For example, we have a comprehensive salary banding structure in line with industry benchmarks, and our staff turnover rate is significantly lower than the 30% industry average for an agency. We conduct an annual staff survey to maintain an effective dialogue with all of our people around their needs and expectations, and as a result of this have a benefits package specifically tailored around those needs. Mental health is something we absolutely champion and prioritise alongside physical health, with 7 trained and qualified mental health first aiders across the business. We appreciate any and all feedback so that we can continue to create an inclusive, positive workplace culture, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
