Pros

Great mission/concept and always needed in the never-ending health dilemma that is diabetes. CDEs are worth their weight in gold and will continue to be needed in excess as the diabetes health crisis continues along with the explosion of technology used to treat diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2.

Cons

If you are even considering for one second putting your career, family and health on the line for this disorganized "start-up" that is going down faster than anyone wants to admit, then please stop reading this and move on to the next job opportunity. This company is the biggest contradiction to the Core Values it claims to live by than anything in the business world I have ever seen. Their incompetent lack of efficiencies and respect is quite frankly disgusting. The inefficient and hostile work environment includes being under a microscope 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It never ends and it will never be good-enough. There is no trust, and no adoption of new ideas. Be prepared to be on video calls ALL DAY long and into the evening. You must be an extremely amiable and agreeable individual with no bright ideas to be welcomed here. There is not an ounce of work-life balance, whether you have a child or a sick relative or get diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, it can't get any colder at this place. For a company that prides itself on caring about the physical and mental health of it's patients, it will run your own health right into the ground. It is just really too bad that the leadership is full of unequipped egos that are constantly stepping on each other that this organization will never get their act together, and they've about run out of time. Please note that this review is not from a "disgruntled" ex-employee... which is what they will tell you (also, make note of the generic nature of the positive reviews here) this is from a human who would honestly feel terrible for anyone else to go through what dozens of us have that have been let go in the last year!

We’re very glad you think we have a great mission / concept and that our CDEs are critical to addressing the diabetes health crisis. However, we’re very sorry to hear your views on the future of the company based on your personal experience because we’ve recently added very large pharma, medical device, payer and self-insured employer companies as customers. In addition, although being results-oriented in driving customer goals is absolutely one of our core values, our “never give up” and efficiency as well as teamwork and compassion core values are equally as important to us. For example, in response to the specific points you’ve made and as you’re aware from having worked here during the last year we have a very liberal PTO and work from home policies. We have had to make objective but difficult decisions in order to maintain our focus on being as efficient and successful as possible but having made these decisions the company has continued to thrive and rapidly grow. Best wishes to you in your future endeavors.

Pros

Seemingly flexible work schedule Work from home environment

Cons

The company rescinded my employment offer I had already accepted when there was a possibility I would miss one training day due to being in labor with my child. I gave the company a few weeks notice of this potential miss and they said I couldn't fulfil my job duties. I even offered to be induced outside of training and they wouldn't reconsider or work with me on the training schedule and specifically sites my pregnancy as the reason for the rescinded offer. I ended up not even having my daughter during the time I would have been in training.

Thank you for your review as we value your feedback so we can improve as an organization. Cecelia Health is understanding of the needs and schedules of our contractors and employees and we support flexible scheduling to accommodate all people who are a part of our team. As an organization who supports working virtually, we recognize that people have unique circumstances and require flexibility. In your specific situation, we were contracting with a large group of new clinicians for a specific project that included a very tight timeline with intensive, mandatory training. This was communicated clearly with all new contracted clinicians during our initial conversations relating to this work. Due to the large number of clinicians needed to meet the needs of this project, timeline for training and complexity of training, we did not have the ability to provide make up or recorded training options for anyone unable to attend any section of this specific training. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused. We greatly value our clinicians and strive to provide a flexible and productive virtual work setting. Best regards, Dwight Scott Sr. Director Human Resources

Pros

WFM and ability to work more hours

Cons

micromanaging, changing protocols weekly sometimes daily and as you adapt, if you get it wrong, you will be at fault. Mgt takes a hierarchy-dictating style of management and they are not open to feedback. They manage through fear, writing you up and do not seeking to understand but are quick to conclude. Your schedule and coaching will be micromanaged. They ask you to wear all the hats to support the organization: marketer, admin, advocate, etc instead of hiring the correct individuals and then they essentially try to turn you into a bot. If you are interested in mostly pacifying people and disempowering them to advocate strongly more so for medications then helping them see they have the potential to succeed through tools and understanding themselves, then you may enjoy this 'job.'
