Pros

I lucked out and work with one really great teacher whom is also fed up and looking elsewhere for employment.

Cons

I have my BACHELORS DEGREE (which is apparently a very rare thing for a teacher at Celebree to have) and make a dollar more than minimum wage. I didn't work my tail off in school my entire life to make such little money. It's actually insulting, but rest assured that I am actively looking for a REAL job. There are "teachers" at my center that have never stepped foot inside a college class room and make more than I do. The pay scale is DEFINITELY screwed up. We have one teacher that left, came back, and received a raise to take on LESS responsibility than she was taking on before she left--the only reason being is that my director was desperate to have her back just so that there was another body to work at my center since we were low on employees. CTI, the training that new employees receive, is a bunch of lies that I don't even know where to begin on uncovering. Corporate claims to offer teachers "this and that" but you have to trudge through hell and back to get any of the things they claim to give teachers IF at all. It's absolute BS that teachers are given zero time to work on portfolios and lesson plans yet there are certain teachers at my center who are allowed to abandon their classrooms all day and sit up in the office doing NOTHING. It must be nice to get paid to do nothing yet teachers like my co-teacher and me who actually work our tails off get zero credit or acknowledgement for it! I thought Celebree wanted top-of-the-line individuals to be teaching at the centers? Why are you hiring incompetent and irresponsible people and then screwing over the FEW good ones? This company is a joke.

Thank you for your review. Our 60+% of our Celebree Staff has at least an Associate's degree and we do try to adjust out pay scale based on level of education and experience. Celebree offers 401k, health , dental, life insurance, child care discounts, educational reimbursement, paid time off, and free training's in additional to teacher salaries that we encourage our teachers to take advantage of. In addition, we offer competitive pay rates that are in line with other childcare centers. We have also started implementing paid planning time for centers who are going through the accreditation process. If you are ever overwhelmed with your daily tasks, please do not hesitate to reach out to your management team, training team, or center mentors for support as they are there to assist. If you would like to speak to someone in more detail about your experience, please contact Kristen Masters, Employee Relations Manager at kmasters@celebree.com

Pros

Depending on who your directors are, they can be flexible with letting you have off, come in late, or leave early. They do have a pretty good preschool program. Getting the experience of working with children

Cons

They can be too flexible though, letting too many people off at once, which makes the center low on staff and puts extra work on the teachers that actually do show up to work everyday. There's no appreciation for the teachers whatsoever, and corporate is always coming up with new ways to add work to the already over full workload they put on the teachers for barely over minimum wage. All that Ritchie (the CEO) cares about is money, how to get more from the paying parents, and give nothing in return. They don't even pay out vacation accruals when you resign from them (another way for Ritchie to pinch pennies). They expect the teachers to get sooo much work done (lesson plans that they don't even give you time to do, collect pictures and bios for 7 areas of learning for 20+ children (yes, they overflow the rooms), daily reports, branding, etc) all while supposedly protecting, education, and nurturing 20+ children. Lol, it's ridiculous and absolutely not worth the time, effort, or energy. I get that jobs usually will over flow their employees with the workload, but at least PAY them and show some appreciation. You think they would pick up on the turnover rate of the teachers.

Pros

I loved the families and the children in the program. Most of the teachers were amazing as well. On a day-to-day basis, I loved my job.

Cons

The district manager and the owner only ever looked at two things . . .a quick walk through of the building and the bottom line. Cutting payroll and increasing enrollments should be priorities, but happy teachers, happy parents and most importantly, happy students should be a priority as well. The Directors take all the blame . . .if a Center is not performing it must be the Director's fault. Every time I went to a Directors meeting, they were introducing someone new because they had let someone else go.
