Pros
Biggest pro is work-life balance for salaried employees. Working hours of salaried employees in comparison with other companies in the industry including competitors are much less. Most exempt employees work no more than 45 hours a week and rarely work weekends. Medical benefits are good. Company pays $7500 annual tuition and $250 annual gym reimbursement. They also offer a good short term disability benefit. Another pro at Ichor is the diverse environment. English is not required to work at Ichor, many workers speak alternate languages and diversity is encouraged.
Cons
The downside at Ichor is the senior leadership team and their lack of business ethics.The company has been in the news on several occasions related to outside audits for finance violations. In addition, there is simply no leadership at the company. Corporate communication is non-existent. Ichor is also known for having a very strong "good old boys club" that makes the working environment very difficult for females and new comers to the company. For all of these reasons, many employees distrust management. The other con is that there is a clear difference between how salaried and hourly workers are treated with respect to bonuses, working hours, additional benefits and more. Many hourly workers feel as if they are being taken advantage of. There have been no pay increases for 2 years for hourly employees. The company also stopped 401K matching last year for both salaried and hourly employees. Ichor also does a poor job of developing and promoting employees. Once hired by Ichor, it is very difficult to get a promotion or move up. The company prefers to hire from the outside rather than promote from within.
