Poor leadership and heading in the wrong direction

Pros

The immediate team was great, but most of those people have probably left now. OK pay at some levels. Canteen seems to be trying hard.

Cons

The wholesale side of the business is holding up the consumer side. The responsibility for the LloydsPharmacy brand has been handed over to a very small, though well-meaning agency, which feels like it might be going in the wrong direction. Management (excluding the MD) seem largely unwilling to interact and be visible to their staff, which is unfortunate and creates an air of suspicion. There were a lot of passionate and bright people in the organisation, but they weren't being nurtured well enough, meaning they have been culled and only the 'yes people' who are happy to lead the brand in the wrong direction are left (with a few exceptions).

Great pay and good vacation time. Free coffee

Cons

Unorganized upper management. Many plans were not translated throughout the company thus employees didn't know task.

Pros

People are generally amicable. Compensation seems to better compared to market. Promotes diversity as many new faces from around the world are now part of Celesio. Health benefits especially maternity are really good.

Cons

Serious communication gaps. It has happened that two or more teams are working on the same subject simultaneously and sometimes none of them are working on what should have been their scope. Buck passing, lack of direction, no direction, no decision making and absence of communication is the norm. Most of the meetings end without a real decision or conclusion. Had very high expectations from this company considering it employs 38000 people and does €22 bn in revenues but these expectations were all shattered during my first week at work. If you like chaos, pretense, ignorance, inefficiencies etc. this is the place to be.
