      Great team, stressful job.

      Pros

      The coworkers literally made the job survivable. Made some great connections there.

      Cons

      The pay was far below industry standard and senior level work loads were expected from every developer, while paying below the industry standard wages for every level. The expected hours were astronomical at times and contributed to an unmanageable work-life balance. Management rarely backed up staff with clients, causing a stressful development and training cycle. Lack of training for the job you are expected to perform (train clients, develop new clients, support, etc.) and lack of accessible resources to spend time learning. The location in a small town did not help.

      As a small, but rapidly growing company, we continuously look for ways to improve. We are committed to creating a comfortable, transparent and collaborative environment for all our employees. We have many tools and resources to help our staff and if there is anything missing, our door is always open - let us know what you need. We want our work family to know they have our support to succeed in their role. Regarding our location, we feel it is to our advantage! There is no need to fight traffic or travel through tunnels to get to work. However, we understand it is not for everyone.

      You are right about your former coworkers – we have a great team of talented people working at CemSites. We have always been committed to sustaining a collaborative and mentally stimulating work environment, and I’m sorry to hear that your experience did not match that. We are a fast-growing, young company that has more than doubled year-over-year for the past four years straight. Along with that rapid growth comes an increasing workload as well as ample advancement opportunities. We consider our location an advantage to the right person looking for a career outside of Pittsburgh. We have no traffic to contend with, plenty of restaurants, close shopping and free onsite parking. Thank you for the feedback and best of luck in your future endeavors.

      Worst Decision of My Life

      Pros

      I realized that I knew I could do better than this

      Cons

      Forced prayers at meals. Long gruesome hours with impossible deadlines. Incompetent management that constantly looks for a scapegoat to blame all their problems on. I could go on for hours but i hope possible applicants understand that I shouldn't have to.
