Pros

-This company has SO much potential... could be an industry leader with some small changes -There are some great people that work at the company from all different backgrounds and experiences...really cool to learn from one another -Flexible WFH -Unlimited PTO -Autonomous work environment

Cons

boss lacked complete professionalism. From consistently canceling weekly 1v1s, to never responding on slack/email, showing up 10+ minutes late to meetings... it was simple leadership skills that were nonexistent. -He loved to flex his title at any chance -He never implemented performance reviews/goals (metric and qualitative) -Used team wide meetings to practice his board meeting presentations -He talked in circles and at times made me question authority and experience -Nothing new has been implemented since he started

I appreciate your review of your time at Centerbase. One-on-one’s are important, and with the launch of Motivosity and other tools to help our managers, there is no excuse for skipping these meetings. We are continually working with our leadership team to ensure they understand and place the same emphasis on one-on-one’s as I do. Organizational restructures are difficult, especially for a tight-knit group like Centerbase. We made incredibly tough business decisions that ultimately impacted our people, but they were not made carelessly or without thoughtful intention. I stand by how we went about the conversations and how we have since worked with our team members post-employment. I’m sorry you felt otherwise.

Pros

- Some departments are hard working (product, development) - Culture was great prior under original CEO - Decent benefits

Cons

- The CEO who, in my opinion, embodies everything that's wrong with corporate leadership. While I will refrain from naming names, the leadership provided by this individual was nothing short of disastrous - Being relatable to employees was clearly not a priority for the current CEO. They appeared out of touch with the realities of our day-to-day work and the challenges we faced. Attempts to engage with the team often felt forced and insincere, further contributing to a sense of disconnection. - Authenticity was a foreign concept to this CEO. Their words and actions rarely aligned, making it difficult to trust anything they said. It was evident that their public persona was carefully crafted to create a facade of success, while the reality within the organization was vastly different. The CEO's lack of leadership, toxic corporate culture, inability to relate to employees, and lack of authenticity were major contributors to a frustrating and disheartening work environment. I would strongly caution anyone considering employment under this leadership to think twice and carefully assess whether it aligns with their career goals and values.

I appreciate the time you took to provide feedback about your experience at Centerbase. From what I can gather, it appears you worked at Centerbase for quite some time and experienced the transition from a founder-CEO to growth stage company and new leadership. Transitions like this can be challenging: you’ve gotten used to how things are done and with whom, and it seems that overnight things have changed! Over the past 18 months I have had to make strategic decisions to push our company forward into a new era. These decisions have brought new faces and new technologies into the organization, and we have drastically changed how we approach our business and our customers. You and I may not have had the relationship that you had with Centerbase’s founder, and I may have a different personality than he did, but that does not mean I care any less about this incredible company and the outstanding team members who work here. I’m sorry you felt differently and I hope you find what you’re looking for in your next role.

Thank you for taking the time to post. Selling SaaS products certainly isn’t a static motion. I would say that the selling motion can be as iterative as the development cycles that lead to the products we bring to market. Because we are constantly improving, building, and acquiring products to our platform, there is a level of agility and flexibility needed within the sales motion. It’s okay that this type of sales environment isn’t for everyone. I hope post-Centerbase, you’ve found the role you were looking for that aligns with your needs!
