Pros

People are nice. Mission of organization is wonderful. There is opportunity for growth. CEO believes and promotes a healthy culture.

Cons

Management is inconsistent and sometimes unfair. Hierarchical structure and limited feedback/exposure is demotivating. Performance is not well measured or rewarded.

The staff nurses and ancillary employees are wonderful!

Cons

Company focus is on the corporation. Not interested in employee retention. Employee contracts are meaningless as they will just terminate your current position at which point they create a new position that fits their directive and you can “apply” for that. Seems interesting that they are so blinded by corporate greed and still considered a non-profit.

Great coworkers (patient care staff and doctors), autonomy in the department, see a wide range of patient conditions, large regional care center allows traumas and critical care in the department

Cons

In the process of major cuts to all patient care staff in the whole hospital (decreasing overall FTE throughout), department and hospital management does not listen to staff or take suggestions, company removed all bonuses, company buying out all surrounding competition, raised insurance costs with poor benefits, Z-E-R-O appreciation from company, no upper management on the floors
