Pros

I would say the best part of my job as the HR Representative was being able to meet new and exciting people with interesting stories on a frequent basis. I also enjoyed being able to offer jobs to individuals who really needed a position.

Cons

Micromanagement from Corporate Disrespect from Corporate being asked to "spy' on other HR Representatives and to tattle (hated being asked - usually when asked I would just say "well nothing has been said on chat." Terrible pay for associates, feeling absolutely awful not being able to advocate for them more. The HR job was more of a babysitting position, most of true HR duties were not my responsibility. Not being able to have any vacation days until after 1 year of service while being part of management. Being threatened that my job would end if we did not get the turnover under control. How can you get turnover under control when all you are willing to pay associates is $9.00 - $10.50 and these associates are berated by so many people over the phone it tears them down. I left home every morning dreading going to work and I was at work every day hating my job. I finally got out after only 9 months, while I wish the best for the company I truly think the CEO should rethink who he has in Corporate Positions as they are rude people who have no compassion for their employees.

Pros

Many opportunities to move up in the company.

Cons

We went through 4 branch managers/supervisors in less than a year making leadership constantly shakey. The office will not close early even in dangerous weather, if you are a supervisor you are expected to drive in ice or snow, no excuses. So many times corporate would scream and place blame on supervisors, the communication and comrodary are terrible. There is no commission so you can push yourself to be excellent at what you do, but at the end of the day you will be paid just as much as others with a passive/negative attitude.

Pros

I started as a CSR over 7 years ago and have been promoted multiple times. The growth potential with a company based in your same city without having to relocate when offered a promotion is a big plus! I have referred several people to the company and have watched them move into upper management positions, as well as other departments. Tons of opportunity to continue to learn and improve your skill set. Open door policy with upper management and corporate really does exist with CSS! You get to speak to Realtors all over the country and Canada. Caller are excited to be able to connect with a "live" person 24/7, 365 days a year. We had a great 20th anniversary celebration for everyone, not just management! Employees are appreciated and it shows. Monthly drawings for t-shirts, grills, tablets, and many more items. Bonuses for attendance and for perfect Quality scores add up and are easy to attain, just show up and do a good job! Flexible schedules for students and tuition reimbursement available as well. The job is what you make it. Helping Realtors and their sellers can be life changing to know that you DO make a difference! CSS hires professional, polite, and caring individuals that they know they can count on to be there to assist callers at all times.

Cons

Contact Centers are not for everyone, and CSS realizes that. They are very upfront in the interview process about sitting for long periods of time, busy periods. You can get up and stretch anytime, 2 breaks and a lunch on full shift. The busy times are the same for CSS as it is for Realtors. The comments made in another review by a former HR demonstrate that this person was not flexible in understanding a contact center environment or recruiting for busy season, as well as retaining during slow season. Professionalism at all levels is a must. It has to trickle down from the top and spread to the team. If a member of leadership, in this case the disgruntled HR is negative, unprofessional, gossipy, or unavailable, it is detriment to the efforts of the rest of the team! In some cases, the employee may be experiencing their first "real" job. In other cases, there may be a retired person wanting to make some extra money and get to know people outside of their usual circle of friends. CSS makes this available, as long as the right people are flexible and positive in their interactions. A member of leadership has to be able to leave their personal life at the door and focus on the people that look to them as role models.
